On my D2+, if I browsed music through the folder browser, I could highlight a song, hit settings and delete the song. This also worked with videos. Is there anyway to delete songs and videos directly from the J3? This will be a huge step backwards if there isn't.

Thanks

First be sure to browse music through the folder browser. When you want to delete a song tap the "X" at the bottom of the screen, it will turn red. Then select the song you want to delete. The song will be highlighted in a blue strip and begin to scroll. At the same time a black box will pop containing an "O" and an "X". Selecting O will delete the song, while selecting X will not. So select carefully. :)

It's the same for deleting videos as well. Just make sure that you're browsing videos through the folder browser.

It's pretty annoying actually, the X appears in all browsing modes but you can ONLY use it if you specifically get to "Browser" from the main menu first.

So if there's a file you don't like you have to remember which one it is, go to the main menu, search through the whole device just so you can delete it!

Hmmm...I don't have that issue. No matter where I am, if there's something I want to delete, I tap "X" then the item. The black O/X box opens, then I simply delete the item. There's no searching involved whatsoever. I delete bookmarks and favorites this way as well; or an entire folder if I want to.

MCSmarties is navigating via ID3-Tags, DAPmagic via filenames...
