Some questions about Cowon J3

Ok this is not about upgrading from S9
I Am on the brink to finaly buy a cowon player after saving up money

I always had S9 in mind but went for a samsung player last time
Now i realy want a cowon

Questions:

1. I like the UCI themes on S9
is there possible to use S9 UCI themes on J3
or do J3 have some uci themes.?
IF NOT isnt it much better to go for a S9 just for uci themes suport make your player much more personal.?

(installing UCI Themes on S9 is not that easy right?
have to drag&drop one theme each time so u cannot like switch theme while you are on the road right?)

2. Screen on J3 is amoled? ( i havent read the specs yet)

3. And most important of all The volume output is the volume louder on J9 than s9 i love loud volume and player like samsung have very loud volume.

4. which one have Wifi S9 or J3 ?

All S9 UCIs work on the J3. In some cases they have to be edited a bit in order to work 100%ly correctly, but there are screenshots/videos of the J3 with aero VTX for example installed, and it worked fine there.

You can switch at least between three mainmenus without having to connect the J3 to the computer. Also, some UCIs support the usage of for example multiple music screens, such as FluX by Gilgamesh.

Yeah, the J3 has AMOLED, too.

OK i decided i will probaly go for either S9 or J3
I realy think S9 look cool but J3 is also cool so not sure what to get [laugh]

I have one question now
Do S9 and J3 both have speakers
and if yes , stereo speakers?

Ah good to know anyway mono speakers is not much of a use (and i have Samsung M1 for speakers anyway beside i dont use mp3 speakers that much)
I am more inclining toward a 32Gb S9 it has been on the marked long enough to have solved out most bugs and many happy users.

But is tempting to get a D2+ (maybe a 8gb cheaper) but i dont know if i realy need it

My current mp3 players:
Ipod touch (for all except music, i think we all agree on that)
Samsung M1 (my main player because of loud music and the only i have with amoled screen, speakers , voice recorder and radio)
Samsung P2 (my second most used player .. loud music but a bit old now)
Samsung K5 with speakers my favorite from 2006 but now only use it for in house radio during shower in the bathroom
Sony A828 I realy regret i got this one , low volume music, no touch screen, boring interface , and crappy bluetooth conexion with drop outs.
only use i have for it , is the only mp3 player that Ps3 suport to stream music from
I only got it because i wanted a new player and the only new one they had in local store was a Sony and Ipod... i might have choosen a ipod over sony ipod is better than sony.

Cowon S9 will probaly be my main player together with Samsung M1
Maybe i should get a Cowon d2+ also but i dont know if i realy need it
I mean everyone have had a D2 sometimes except me ... but i already have many players....
And u know the saying "Get many Mp3 players... but u end up using one mostly" and that is so true

I havent dropped J3 all together i am still deciding but i dunno is more like i like the way S9 is...

J3 look like a Zune copy , S9 is more original i think... but most cowon players are good anyway i guess.

I would recommend you to go with Cowon J3,why would you want a relatively older player when the same company offers you more,apart from speakers J3 has expandable slot,its a great feature to have.

Cowon S9 is bit old and many firmwares have already been released,and there are less chance of any future updates,while Cowon J3 is just released,it looks great,it have sexy metal front,i think it is more gorgeous than S9,both of them are gonna sound great,but with J3 you get upgraded earbud Cowon SE2,which i assume is better than S9 stock earbuds.

Well if i get S9 i get 32gb
With J3 i get 16Gb but can expand so for memory is the same
i never need more than 32gb anyway

the design of S9 is more snacksy than J3
Speakers is cool but not nesesary (already have that on samsung M1)
Since J3 is newer it can have more "Software bug?" S9 on the other hand i think is the most perfect firmware Cowon has created
J3 probaly be that too as times goes by.
I dont like Earbuds but prefer over head headphones using Sennheiser and they sound just fine.

And the most important question
Have Cown managed to sort out their playlist problems with the J3 or will we still have to rely on external software???

No way to make a playlist on the J3, only a favorites option as on the S9.

I agree with Sameer. The J3 is simply gorgeous! Plus, it has a lot of new tricks. The UI is user friendly and fun. But, most importantly, it sounds incredible! It has 39 sound preset options, a stunning AMOLDED screen and you simply can't beat the battery life, rated at 64 hours for music playback (11 for video). True, Cowon still hasn't dealt with the playlist problem, but you'd have that to deal with whether you bought the S9 or the J3. I think you should go with the J3, which I just upgraded to from the D2+. If you can't tell, I really like it a lot.

I've also got a few questions before i buy the j3:

I'm not sure if this is still an issue, as I've only seen it in review videos. Is there any way to turn off that "bloop" sound when you click on screen?

Is there a way to add whole artists, genres, or individual song to the now playing playlist?

Does the J3 support gapless ogg?

can anyone confirm that the Craw ui works on the J3?

Will the J3 be able to support custom uci's? I'm stuck between the creative ucis of the S9 and the J3. And if it does work on the J3, can someone give me a list of the ucis it supports and the music ucis that show multiple album art? It would be heavily appreciated!

Yes the J3 will support custom UCIs. Wait till some developer gets his hands on it.
