Has anyone else noticed that the new J3 has the Adobe Shockwave icon/logo instead of the Flash Logo? See below...

This the Flash logo:

This is the Shockwave logo:

I know this is a small thing, but it aggravates me that Cowon doesn't use the right logo on their main UI screen. I will eat my words of this unit is capable of 3D Shockwave rendering.

Cowon fails all the time in terms of the J3. [thumbdwn]
I mean, the new features are a joke, aren't they?
Sure, microSD and a speaker are cool features, but there's nothing else which brings me to get a J3, it's just an upgraded S9.
There's not even Flash 8 or higher installed, which would've been a damn awesome feature, but nooo... [thumbdwn]
As long as my S9 works I won't get the J3.

Well yeah, it's like an S9 released with higher capacity, a better build, a speaker, and probably a little more here and there... worth buying for those who've lost their S9s :P

What does that have to do with this topic?
What would be on-topic posts about?
We had noticed that the Flash icon is actually a Shockwave icon, even before the J3 was released, which is kind of a stupid fail.
And IMO the J3 is a fail... at least for me. More capacity is a good thing, but the other new features... I'll wait for the J3's successor.

I kind of agree. As much as I really want the features of the J3 it almost feels unfinished to me. At least at the moment - is in only available in the US up to 16GB. The Flash/Shockwave issue mentioned above. Flash 7 only. And Lastly, the absence of WiFi.
I'm in the process of ditching all of my Apple devices and switching to Cowon, but I might as well get a 16GB S9 for cheaper and wait until they improve upon the J3.
Cowon lowered the price of the S9 from $200 to $170
Edit: sorry it was $180 only @via Amazon 16GB Chrome Version ONLY!

even more of a reason to get the s9 and not the outrageously overpriced j3

I do agree the price of the J3 is a little high atm, but then it will come down as the time passes and other new DAPs come out in the market. Same happened with the S9 if you remember correctly.

Cost isn't really a factor for me. Keep in mind that it's supposed to be a 'Flagship' player and it's still $130 cheaper than the Flagship Sony player.
I'm just surprised at Cowon's half-hearted attempt at a new Flagship player.
Yeah the J3 seems just like a "finished" S9. I'm sure it will be improved even more with firmware updates but as it stands, it's not ready to rightfully take over the S9's spot

Btw, S9 already has the Shockwave icon in the original mainmenu2 in the S9 UI for Flash.

Really? I guess they couldn't get it right the second time around. [laugh]

I get your point. I'm just a bit of a perfectionist and small errors like than just annoy me.
A possible explanation is that Macromedia created Flash 7 and ActionScript 2.0
I don't know if that is an actual licensing issue or not.
