took my m3 out an bout today, and thought id add sum songs on d-playlist to see whats it like. i noticed that some of the songs were getting cut off at the end, and even once it sounded as tohugh it was goin to play a song(first milisecond) and then went on to another one. i thought it might just be the d-playlist that caused it so i tried the same song, from its original folder, and the problem was still there. ive only noticed it with the 1.30 firmware which i put on. any ideas???

Thre is a known problem with the 1.30 firmware that does this. I upgraded to 1.31k and it is gone. If you don't want to upgrade to the Korean firmware either wait for the international release, or downgrade to the 1.30b2.

yea ive dun the 1.31. still have a problem, but takin a closer look.i tink it just mite be some of my mp3's.they are wierd, never seen it before. basically i was listenin to the song that cuts and noticed the kbps kept changing which meant length of song kept chaning. as 1.31 aint sorted it, im just guessing its some of my mp3's that are bent. cheers anyway

umm thats probably because those mp3's are encoded in VBR, which...is a pretty F*CKED up codec! All the times and stuff are really messed up which might be why the mp3 player only plays some of the song! Stupid VBR!

I also had this problem and asked about it and they explained it to me, so not really much you can do unless they figure out a way to solve the VBR stuff in a future firmware upgrade. Sorry man...

You could rework your VBR mp3s through a mp3 decoder again, and this time set a static bitrate, at about 192 kbps. The loss in quality won'nt be huge and you have solved your problem...
