There is any reason that Cowon is not enabling file transfer over bluetooth and h.246 support at their firmware upgrades?
Any codec requires special royalty to be paid to the owner and respective Govt.,H264 also requires special amount of money to be paid to US Govt.,which will undoubtedly increase the total production cost of S9,so it will be illegal to ship player with H264 playable capability with paying for it.

And what about the bluetooth? does it cost anything?
i guess file transfer over bluetooth only add to the circuitry and mainly on the firmware so there is always a possibility of cowon granting us file transfer over the bluetooth by firmware upgrade, its interesting that ipod touch also doesn't support it.(i dont know why??)

HW limitation?
bluetooth..... maybe some sort of stupid DMCA copyright type deal? I dunno.
Cowon doesn't seem like the type to be worried about users being able to pirate stuff, but maybe they aren't allowed to enable it (to prevent us from linking our beloved S9's together via bluetooth and syncing with each other)

But any ways, the speed of Bluetooth sucks, its gonna take hours to transfer a single 400MB movie,I still support cable because it provides better file transfer speed and also charges the S9.

About bluetooth. Can someone edit firmware to support file transfer over bluetooth then writing a flash app to control that feature? Is it possible?
Nope, only Cowon can edit the firmware.

of course everyone knows what happened to sony's PSP. it only happened because its got enough support for it.
you can't simply demand stuff like that. someone actually needs to know how to hack the S9 firmware and actually know how to recode this stuff. the truth is, i dont think ANYONE in this realistically small community knows how.

yea but we have uci coders and some members have found tcctool code or sth like that so may be they can handle this. organisation is needed here. uphaillife you know many people in this comm so may be you can start this organisation. i think we just need first step stepped.
i think we just need first step stepped.
And then we need someone to actually open up the firmware and recode it. Thats the hard part.
