Hi,

I recently decided to sell my Q5 so I formatted it using my PC running Windows 7 (NOTE- I didn't use the format function that is accessed by booting into Q5's recovery mode!). As expected, afterwards the Q5 drive was totally empty. I came to start it up to show a potential buyer today and it just freezes at the startup screen. Is there somewhere I can go to get all the factory default files so that I can put them back on the Q5 so it will load up? What are my options?

Thank you for any help provided.

(This is driving me crazy, spent 6 hours straight so far!!!)

What i would do:
1) I try to copy the Q5apps. If it doesn't work
2) I re-flash the firmware and copy the Q5apps again.

I can't think anything else for now.

I tried copying q5apps to the player before posting here. I have not tried flashing the Q5 though and I do not know how I do this. Could you please help me find some information on this?

Thank you

It is the same like updating the firmware. Just take the latest firmware file and put it on the Q5w. Then when you Power On the player Just press the OK to flash the same firmware again (the version numbers will be the same.) Here is the complete guide:

Mine has now the same problem....
Also the pc don't recognize it as a removable disk (in windows) and it gives in linux i/o errors....

I think the hard disk just said goodbye to me... :-(
or maybe the cables lost contact or the disk controller is damaged. Am i right?

I have two options: a) open it and try to save my files and fix it or
b) try to format it from the recovery menu

I don't know what i'll choose but i'll post again for my progress...

I tried to format it in recovery mode but it isn't working because windows or linux can't recongize the hdd... so my only option is to remove and replace it....
Because i don't want to install a hdd i found this adapter:

http://www.soarland.com/SD_Card_to_ZIF_Toshiba_1.8_Adapter-product-266.html

Is it possible to install it and use it because is a little bit bigger from a 1.8 hdd that i found in the market?

size of 1.8 hdd: 71x54x8mm
size of adapter: 95mm x 46mm

I also found this http://www.ameri-rack.com/APA-CF18T_m.html
but i don't know how much space can i get from a CF card.....
I want at least 16GB the perfect is 32GB....

If somebody know please tell me i want to order.

*** Don't answer me.... I killed my Q5w.... ***
