View Full Version : S9 FW 2.50 from 2.41

Ok I have read all the info on the new FW and would at least like to give a try, but have some concerns on what it will do to my system:
My current setup
--Running FW 2.41
--Have Claws UI as mainmenu1
--Have Swipe UI as maninmenu2
--Have dnws UI as maninmenu3
What will happen when I update to 2.50? Will I lose my current set in some form? Im sure that I can downgrade back to 2.41 but am in a comfort zone in doing this being a newbee and all

Why didn't you post that in the sticky 2.50 thread? Anyways, nothing will happen. I upgraded from 2.41 to 2.50 and was instantly greeted with Claw's mainmenu1 and AU as mainmenu2, as it always was.

Back up your Flash UI folder just in case, but upgrading should be flawless.

Is it true that I can only have two custom UI ? with the third the new cowon UI.
Or with this new FW I can still have my choice of three UI, which then it makes no sense to upgrade there would be no advantage? Am I right in this thinking?

Ok thanks, I thought I read that mainmenu3 is now the new widget screen.
So how do you use the two custom UIs? My guess is that you dont use the new UI except for the forced widget manimenu3
So what is your setup (or anyone who can help please)
Claw mainmenu1
dnw mainmenu2
cowon widget 3 (and is this untouchable as before when it was mainmenu4)
Sorry to be a pain in the rear, just want to be sure on what will happen when I update. I have seen some post of lockups, which I want to avoid.

The widgets screen acts now as third mainmenu, so you can still use three custom UIs.

Example:
(FW 2.41 -> FW 2.50)
Mainmenu 1: Claw's -> Claw's
Mainmenu 2: Paper -> Paper
Mainmenu 3: Aero Ultimate -> Aero Ultimate (Replaces Cowon's new widgets screen now)
Widgets screen: Cowon's widgets screen -> (Nothing, because in the new FW the widgets screen is mainmenu 3)
