I finally decided to load Rockbox just to see what it is like. And... WOW this firmware is really cool. Obviously some existing bugs and limitations but the current build is very useable [thumbsup]. Using a 32 Gb SD.

I'm able to set my D2 to MTP mode and load flacs on.:D

I can shuffle my music and not get the same shuffle order.:D

I've loaded a heap of themes and trailed them. Alot of nice themes available. :D

Customisation is really good. :D

I've had no trouble building the database with a mix of flac and mp3.:D

I still have a couple of questions:

1. I'm still learning how to create playlists from within rockbox - are there any guides available for this.

2. Can I create playlists and load them onto my D2 for rockbox? Can the playlist play a mix from the internal memory and the SD memory?

3. Is there a short cut to return to the WPS from any menu?

4. Is there a shortcut to go to the database direct from any menu or wps; or can a short cut be added to the Quick screen?

A BIG thanks to all the developers.

Glad you're enjoying it so far!

1. I'm still learning how to create playlists from within rockbox - are there any guides available for this.
There's currently no manual for the D2 build, but you can get an idea from one of the others - eg. section 4.4 "Working with Playlists" from the X5 manual (http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-iaudiox5/rockbox-build.html) might help. Obviously different buttons are used on the X5, so you might need to experiment a little, but if you need any help just ask.

2. Can I create playlists and load them onto my D2 for rockbox? Can the playlist play a mix from the internal memory and the SD memory?Rockbox supports .m3u playlists, which can be created on a PC by a huge number of tools. Playlists can mix tracks from internal memory and SD, but it's trickier due to the difference in path names. If you want to do this it's best to create the playlists on the device and save them from Rockbox (you could then open one up in Wordpad and see how it's done...).

3. Is there a short cut to return to the WPS from any menu? There should be! A press of the top-right area while in a menu should take you back to the WPS, but it doesn't work at the moment.

4. Is there a shortcut to go to the database direct from any menu or wps; or can a short cut be added to the Quick screen? There's no way at the moment, sorry. The quickscreen can only be used to toggle settings - it isn't clever enough to take you to any other screen.
