Mysterious icon in video section

With firmware 1.31b, there's a new icon in the menu bar of the video section (in horizontal mode, all the way to the left and just beside the icon for changing the video screen size) that has roughly the shape of a square combined with triangles and with a dot in the upper left corner; when you tap it, you can change the time by 0.5 second increments both positively and negatively. Is it for subtitles; maybe for synchronizing them with the video ? I got the latest version of the user's manual, and on the photos of the video menu, that icon isn't even showing !



Any idea guys?

I'm pretty sure that was there before 1.31b. I'm not sure what it does, but it was there before.

Though, it looks like a square human-ish head. Do you see it? The man is looking to the left with his mouth open.
