I have been looking into buying headphones for my new X5L. I would rather not spend a lot on money, but I want something that is worthy of the X5.

I need an earbud type headphone that I will be using all the time (in the car, working out, riding a bike, etc.). I have been looking online at reviews and forums and here is an short summary of what seem to be the best available products:

Shure e2/e2c: $65, reviews are very good, but is it worth the extra $$$ over the following heeadphones...

Sony MDR EX71: $35, some good reviews, but some bad ones relating to bass and quality (wires). The new 81's seem to have many poor reviews as well.

Sharp MD-33: $40, very good reviews, but I am confused about the 4 pole design, what does this mean, will it work with my X5?

I would really appreciate any opinions, especially if you have used 2 or more of these and can compare them. My main question is, are the Shure e2/e2c noticabley better, and worth the extra money? If you have any other models that you would recommend please feel free to let me know.

Thanks.

i have the Shute, and I thought the same thing when thinking of spending 65 bucks on earphones. But in all honesty, I havent regreted it once, especially after hearing stock hearphones again. I dont think ill ever be able to go back to the ones that come with players. And.....you really cant appreciate the quality of music that each player has unless you dish out the extra cash for good earphones.
BUY THEM, if not better ones

OK. Has anyone tried that thing on amazon.com or byu.com with the $30 off for getting a Visa card? Is that legit?

I have all three, the shures sound good , but can take a little time to get them to fit right - plastic sleaves were uncomfortable for me and didn't seal good, so I had to use the foam. I also don't like the way the cord goes behind your head. I don't really care for the sony ex71's.They fit really nice and are light - they seem harsh to me but have great bass response ( although alittle mushy).

For the money I like the sharps , they remind me of the sonys- great comfy fit and light weight. The sound is much better than the ex71's, smoother treble and better mids and great " not bloated" bass. The 4 pole thing is for sharp auvi minidisc players , but the headphones come with an adaptor for three pole plugs (most everything)- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

hope this helps :)

All three are tons better than stock buds.

Np. enjoy the stuff- I think you will be impressed. Remember there is a little burn in on headphones, they sound better after some hours of play. I forgot to say - the amazon 30 off is a good deal , you get 30 dollar amazon credit for getting the amazon visa !

If you get tired of ear buds sennheiser px 100(open air)- 200 are nice for the money I got my px100s off a third party amazon vender for 38 beans shipped.
