May unintentionally take a long dive.
Did I give you a second look at Grandpa Turner PAPER preview to reveal the main UCI.
Long, text-only type of abuse tayipo UCI wanted to create, ZUNE HD in the UI create a customized inpired saw.

Choose from the menu on each of the various UCI is planning to select.
(1, allowed the author only links guys have registered in the UCI)

"Paper 2.5" which new version of paper is released.
Paper UCI is made more convenient by many UCI developers.
The UCI included newly Asonimha's music UCI and rmfkehwprhk's JetEffect manager.
Thank you two to allow the link.
And new version shows better performance and effect by optimizing more than older version.

Download files and extract it to S9's System \ Flash UI folder.

[Change and new details]
1. Specify your desktop (Select Wallpaer Images)
Instead of replacing _bg.jpg files, new version uses the default method.
(The default method is selecting a image in picture UCI)
If the setting is "Wallpaper is On" in DESK, UCI's background is black.
If the setting is "Wallpaper is Off" in DESK, wallpaper image is the picture you choose.

2. Change Sort
This is the most significant change in new version.
From mainmenu to submenu, you can choose the alignment of text in DESK's "align is".
(Left,Center,Right)
The setting is remained in the restart.

3. Showing Sublist
When you select music and movies, UCI selection menu(submenu) is enable in that category.
If you do not want to show submenu, you should set "music sub is off" in DESK.
When setting is off, it will be automatically connected to the UCI which you run lastly.
Default setting is on.

4. Showing Radio/DMB in Headline(mainmenu)
Because you can't select radio and DMB in sublist if sublist setting is off
you should set "radio is visible (dmb is visible)" to run the radio/dmb.
Then radio/dmb is able in main headline(mainmenu).
Default setting is off.

It is not compatible with the UCI which modify launcher.swf like Wallpaper UCI.
And playlist manager uci by Kim Hyejun(김혜준) is not included because not allowed.
Download this uci and renamed to "playlist_manager.swf" and move to "System \ Flash UI" folder.

I really like this theme and would like to thank the creator.

But there are a few things I really dislike as well. First I just don't understand why it isn't possible to adjust the interfaces to the firmware version in the meaning of compatibilty to foreign users. I know that I could replace the dictionary with something else.

Waiting for something that is hard work. ㅜ. ㅜ But since it is possible for American/European creators (just examples, don't want to discriminate other nationalities ;)) of UCI's to add the functionality for the Korean version, why can't it be possible the other way round? So there would be no need to wait for hard work.

That was the main part. A few minor critics are the clock not working with 24h, and the theme selector not working correct.

Does anybody know about the ".Music" function? Is it possible to add another music theme and if so how should it be named?

It doesn't work all that well for me. I put it into the S9 as mainmenu3. In the Functions, if I press theme[1], nothing happens. If I press theme[2], I get mainmenu1. If I press widget, I get mainmenu2.

In the Settings, both options lead to the Cowon based settings.

If I press Music from home screen, clicking iPod or .music needs a restart. I know it's not included, I think it should be, otherwise why include the option in the first place.

SO many bugs for me, wtf, and while I love how it looks, it's absolutely garbage right now. I've never had to restart the device so many times from a buggy theme.

First off, awesome theme.

Looks simple, very minimilistic, very smooth transition between menu screens. Very nice.

Bugs, when browsing for music using ipod_nova music uci, after selecting track, for some reason reverts back to stock music screen.

Also when using ipod_nova music screen, my album art is displayed all pixelated even though they are resized to 272 x 272 pixels.

Also, when selecting some menu headers, the previous screen is still visible, (does not fade out) so makes it difficult to read and select new menu options.

Other than these bugs, pure brilliance, Lunar sure has a keen eye for design.

Love it, no bugs for me so far. Only thing that irks me is that it has the time and day, but not the date. Not make or break, but I would like to see the actual date in the mainmenu. That is of course if it doesn't ruin the overall look/feel of the whole deal.

I get the same bug as listed above: pressing theme[2] does nothing, theme[3] brings it to mainmenu2, and widget brings it to mainmenu3. Kind of annoying, but again, not really make-or-break for me as I intend to have this as my only mainmenu.

Still, could use a few improvements on the mainmenu, like a battery life indicator. overall very nice theme, I love minimalistic themes

Maybe it's just me, but apparently when you go to play music in v. 1.5 the UCI loads "music.swf" as opposed to "1_music.swf" or whatever would be the relevant number. Not a big deal, but that means you won't be able to use Claw's theme tracker with with this UCI until it's fixed. I imagine it's just a teeny bug, because the previous versions did not have this issue.

Mogtes is Gray (easy on the eyes) while Cowon's is bright with Yellow, that's the only difference between the two.

This UI is excellent by the way with the exception of not being able to use custom wallpapers [thumbsup]!

One thing I did notice is that browser is missing Flash under it's ..."Subtitle"
IE Music shows under it's title : Music/ Radio/ recorder
So Browser should show: Browser/ Pictures/ Documents/ Flash

One thing I really like about this UI...
Technically it has 4 Music UI's to choose from: ipod/.music/ modern/ default music UI.
Very cool indeed.
So in actuality, with the help of this UI, you can have about 6 music UI's (without the help of Claws UI with additional themes!)

I really like this of look of this theme but it seems to have messed up the other themes on my s9. When im using claws ui for some reason now i cant set any backgrounds and i also cant change to any themes above mainmenu3

nothing really. i changed the wallpaper to something more drastic. changed the menu font a bit and thats it. got rid of the .music, ipod theme, etc icons. well REALLY there isn't any changing. i just used it to get some idea of flash before i try programming stuff myself (although this didn't really HELP, but i got somewhere at least)

This is not the changelog but a statement.

¤ He probably found a bug that switch back to the default UCI while leaving the music browser.

¤ Maybe something to do with the music UCI. I think he is saying that he is using the same music UCI as the previous version.

i have just copied 1.7 to my s9, unplugged and read your post ... back to 1.1 ;-)

but it is worth all the trouble, because i like the theme very much. it is plain, simple, good to operate and read, looks great and it is having the ability to use different music ucis in a simple way.

my deepest wish for that theme would be, that it is possible that the user can edit the entries in the music submenu by themself (maybe by editing a settings.txt, like it is done in the uci selector for example).

Only complaint would be that the theme tracker in Claws doesn't work in v1.5 or 1.7
I just reverted back to 1.1 and all is good. In 1.5 and 1.7, my music menu's all went back to the default.

I have one question though.
I have claws as mainmenu1, puzzle as mainmenu2, and now paper as mainmenu3. For some reason the ".music" from luna works as 3_music but not on the .music option in the paper menu. I click on it and its a blank screen. Who can I make it appear in its intended location? The ipod and cube modern work by just typing its name on the file, but Windows doesn't let me rename a file as ".music"

EDIT: LOL I figured it out. Just leave it as "_music"

I am now in a screen that has two random icons- brightness and mainmenu5. I have to restart the S9 to see the main menu. The same thing happens when I click movie.

Nice, thnx for the update. Weird how the play/pause doesn't work on the home screen. Actually pause works, but you can't hit play again, it doesn't work. All the other hardware buttons work.

Hmm going back from cube by pressing the "M" on the touchscreen brings me back to the mainscreen of Paper, so it works. My guess is to turn it off and try it again, and if that doesn't work, just delete the files on your s9 and transfer them again.

Also, expanding on my problem from before..Using the default music UCI, the play/pause button doesn't work on the mainscreen, it just stops for an immediate millisecond than starts again.

I don't have this problem but I only have 3 uci's though, I don't use Claw's Mainmenu 5, etc option. Maybe have Paper UI as mainmenu2 (which is what mine is). An example of what my device is setup as:
mainmenu1= ?uzzle
mainmenu2= Paper
mainmenu3= Claw's UI
mainmenu4= Cowon's Widget
Mainmenu5= N/A - I don't go past Cowon's Widget page

I also don't receive this "UCI is not compatible with wallpapers", all I did was go into the "paper" folder and delete the _bg.jpg and I can then use my custom wallpaper. Also, I don't recieve this "the modified launcher.swf also does not guarantee compatibility with other UCI" problem either. Everything works so far in regards to Claw's UI Launcher, with the exception of not being able to have a custom 2_music in my mainmenu2 (which is Paper). It causes ALL my music UI's to revert to Cowon's original everytime. So I use 1_music, 3_music, and the custom ones Luna placed in Paper but can't use 2_music or it reverts ALL music UI's to Cowon's.

Is this why when I set his a wallpaper to menu3 (paper uci), load up menu3, and then go back to your UCI, menu3's wallpaper is on menu 1 and 2 until I restart?

It's quite a nice gradient background but I thought a plain black would look cleaner and easier to read in bright daylight.
You can always do as I did, make your own wallpaper and substitute it. In the Paper folder you will find the _bg.jpg wallpaper image file. I made a pure black one, named the same (_bg.jpg). Delete the original wallpaper, put your own in the Paper folder and you're good to go.
I use the plain black browser that's linked here somewhere too.
Not flashy, but quick and easy to read, which works for me

What I was getting at was that there is something wrong with the S9's AMOLED screen... it's not the video codecs or quality, but it is the screen or the way the S9 uses the screen. I should have posted this in the appropriate topic, but I can't find it -.-;;

i use this as my main theme. claw's and the grid are the other on my s9. i have claw's for functions and the grid when i just want to go jukebox style. i may replace the grid with dnw's aero soon though. his has options that are very tempting esp world clock. im going overseas (philippines) in less then 3months and having the world clock to keep track of local time and home time will be awesome.

i just love the simplicity no nonsense look of the paper though.

it just makes the s9 look real slick.

There are a few people with Naver accounts here, like myself, who are happy to post new/updated themes as they come from that website to here. Sadly, Naver has only been grabbing updates of the UI's from this forum (Aero Ultimate, Swipe, Simplicity, etc.) or posting about Fonts. Yeah... I'm pretty sure that the people at naver have been shown up through the talent we have here on this forum and pretty much don't see a reason to put a UI that has to compete with the greats (dnw's Aero Ultimate, etc.).

and lastly: a but report (if any of you can get in touch with the author). If you select "Radio is Visible" from paper's settings, sometimes you can no longer get to the music sub-menu and instead it just launches whatever your last music screen of choice was. And this also screws up what music swf is launched by dnw's or Claw's UCIs as well. Custom icons in other uci's still cannot launch anything other than the (newly assigned by Paper) default music uci. until a reset.

Download files and extract it to S9's System \ Flash UI folder.

[Change and new details]
1. Specify your desktop (Select Wallpaer Images)
Instead of replacing _bg.jpg files, new version uses the default method.
(The default method is selecting a image in picture UCI)
If the setting is "Wallpaper is On" in DESK, UCI's background is black.
If the setting is "Wallpaper is Off" in DESK, wallpaper image is the picture you choose.

2. Change Sort
This is the most significant change in new version.
From mainmenu to submenu, you can choose the alignment of text in DESK's "align is".
(Left,Center,Right)

3. Showing Sublist
When you select music and movies, UCI selection menu(submenu) is enable in that category.

it works fine expect that when you chose a music uci from paper and switch to another uci the music uci you chose will display in the other uci also. turning off the cowon and turning it back on changes it back to normal. but it isn't a big deal.

w00t! Claw has created a patch for his UCI so that (hopefully) his UCI and [Menu]Paper are now compatible.
He thinks he figured out what was being done in Paper that was causing the UCIs confusion.

So go test it out, report on that thread any problems or glitches you find.

There is no need to uninstall aero ultimate. Just install paper as mainmenu2.
This way you'll have both to use and enjoy.

yeah i see the same problem, the file in question is modern_by_cube.swf. the other files seem to extract okay, however.

Yes, that is correct. There is an option to turn it on/off in "desk" menu.

FYI, I seem to be having trouble with the new 2.50 firmware. It seems to freeze when I try to exit certain the playlist manager app and the music player. I went back to firmware 2.41 and everything works just fine.

When trying out the different music screens I clicked on one of the first 3 and the screen just went blank. I've got claws setup to remember the last screen so turning the player on/off won't take me to the main menu but a blank screen :(

Is there a fix for this? Deleting all the UCI files for the them doesn't help.

Rename one swf UCI that works with the same name of faulty swf uci, overwrite the faulty uci then change the Claw settings... It happened to me too. Once...

Yea... there is... but is not recommended.

The best way is to search the last version of "Modern by Cube" music UCI. (the "volume gesture" version)

Based on lack of glitch behavior of "Modern by Cube volume gesture.swf" found on KromaXamorK's post (http://iaudiophile.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-30283.html) compared with the previous version (named just "Modern by Cube"), me thinks is something faulty in the UCI that Josi uses.

The "Modern by Cube.swf" file has an issue in matrix mode. "Modern by Cube volume gesture.swf" seems to have solved that. I use this one since.

When I downloaded the UCI again i got a rar error, modern_by_cube.swf was corrupt. Downloaded the above file from here (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=3da928f30d785d919bf8d6369220dcabdf129bf8 5b45dd035be6ba49b5870170) and placed it on the player and voila, it works :D

Initially when I got the error I didnt really pay much attention to it. Still new to the whole UCI thing. Only got the player saturday and been trawling the forum since and I love it so far [thumbsup]

It's a gorgeous theme, just what I was looking for. Now the ZuneHD users can't sidetrack us.. ;) It is meant to be a simple but stylish theme, and I think it does it's job very well (not perfectly, as there some bugs that need to be fixed I suppose). Well, if you use linux, try it under windows.

When I tried unzipping that package under ubuntu 9.10, I got a "file corrupted". Under winXP the same message appeared, but suprisingly only AFTER completely and correctly unzipping the files...[blink]

There is one corrupted file in the archive, one of the included music files I believe (look back a page or two of this thread). The rest should work fine. You can find whichever music file that is corrupted elsewhere if you want it.

I have to add something to my problem description:
The resolution problem only occurs if i go to the browser and then go back to the music UI. i'm using Klaus Browser, it it is of any interest...

I accidently hit "widgets" in functions and now I cant go back to regular mainmenu as Im using 2.52 that doesnt have widgets as a separate file. When booting up all I see is my wallpaper. Anyone know what to do?

The only reason I don't use Paper, is because it comes built in with too many functions that I don't even need or want.

For example, the subway map, jeteffect manager, and the rest of the crap.

And for you blank-screeners out there, here's the explanation.

All those functions only start .swf files that are in your flash UI folder. If you tap the subway icon, but you have no subway.swf, you'll get a blank screen where the only thing you can do is turn off your player using the switch.

Untrue. Just recently, when Cowon began beefing up their home interfaces, they got rid of the old widgets and replaced it with the Coffee Cup one. So if you're running on the newest firmware, you need Claw's widget.swf to not get the blank screen.

^Im aware of the lack of files, just didnt know how to get out of the blank screen ;)
When activating subway.swf its no problem as long pressing the hardwere play button allso should exit it, but widget.swf is loaded as an UCI so you a´cant do that, neither restart the player.

EDIT: Deleted all .sol files... still not working, maybe I should delete the content of the system folder?

@tirim4, there is a widget.swf in claw's pack you can put this in the flash ui folder, then it will load when you turn on your player and you can exit to other uci.:)

Or just delete the mainmenuX.swf, than the Standard Cowon menu will be loaded.

THx for the help! I just did what bluegeist said but I renamed mainmenu1.swf to widget.swf. Should have figured that one out myself. Thanks again[blush]

Anyway to possibly remove the options for the music themes. I would just want to use one and it is annoying if you go to a blank screen because of clicking the wrong one. Otherwise, I love the theme!

is not broken. music_by_cube.swf is broken. but you can take it from 2.5.1 version. it is just the same file.
It's only one file that's broken.

if you change it to modern_by_cube.swf it works ( at least on the j3, from the UCI's package)
i'm just looking for all the exact names for each swf, can someone help ?

Thanks, but my "modern" tab doesn't work in the music directory, like it changes to my wallpaper and just freezes there and I have to either plug it in my comp or keep on pressing play/pause button and hold power switch, please help out :)
