At first...I'm german and got no problems with reading and understanding english sentence, which does not apply to writing ;)

soo...i wanna know how far u can go with flash, i.e. how deep can u dick into the "OS" of S9?

I read on http://www.2souldesign.net/ that there are methods/functions to checks for the direction of the s9’s current state and to save data to the S9 like highscores...

I don't have a S9 yet but if there are more possibilities to code apps like:
- notepad, so you can write notes
- alarm clock, that use music of the player (I know there aren't speaker ;) )
- "Subway To-Go" of the P3 would be very nice

I'm in my second year of appreticeship (Software Developer). I'm known to java and c# for now and worked a bit with flash a while ago...

To code these apps and some basic stuff would be my last reason to buy a S9, so...anyone can tell me about this something?

*the Gnotepad looks awesome!!!...does it save notes on the S9 or within the flash app?

regards

i would answer if i would have a clue of coding flash and it's limits for the s9^^

Well there are several limits to Flash in S9:
1 - Flash 7 - that's a limit already as Flash 8 and above have lots more functionality, including performance enhancements.
2 - No ability to access the filesystem directly. Have to rely on Cowon's single-threaded browser commands - which are ridiculously convoluted.
3 - No access to sound data - FW does not expose sound driver to Flash.
4 - Severe framerate drop during BT stream.
5 - Performance limitations - you can animate the hell out of S9 - but it will cost you as it seems that S9 does not give Flash UI cpu priority.
6 - FW does not allow .sol file placement - it overrides it into SOL directory - so one is stuck with all .sol files bunched up in one place.

Bottom line is Flash is not designed to interact with OS level (being a presentation-level tool) so OS-level access is given by FW - which is extremely limited at this point.

Hmm, actually I think every utility you name is already there ^^
The S9 comes with an alarm clock. That's one thing the flash-developers here didn't have to work on.
With the work Gonende and Cassini we now have a notepad (Gnotepad, you mentioned it). And I think it's possible to save up to 10 notes.
As far as I know G.R.I.D UI, Asurada UI and Puzzle have a icon on their main-menu that connects to a subway-file in the flash folder.
And KirbyM worked on a NYC Subway Map (http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27358).
But I don't know how far all of them came with there work and how to use this stuff. I don't use subways that much and I rely myself on a normal subway-plan that I keep in my wallet.
But I think there's still a lot of work to do. I mean look at all the stuff you can purchase in apples "AppStore". Some of this stuff is really useful.
You can also program a lot of games (maybe a race-game^^) or UIs

ok, thx to all!
It's a pity that there are so much limitations you mentioned Claw. Of all things those single-threaded browser commands let me hope to interact more with the system...

@gorgi
yes I know there are several apps but i love to develop apps newly and learn more about the language ;)
So i have to concentrate on the interface for now, hope coming firmwares will be more powerfull!

*and now I'm looking forward the day i hold my S9 in my Hands :)
