Check out cowons global website, the specs are right there.
The O2 is as good as it gets, just get one and don't worry. There are PMP with bigger and better screens, but then the battery life is very short.

apps type are .o2 and there a very few of them

idk anything about the sdk except that you have to have linux....i think
