does the S9 support videos in MPEG 1 or 2? reason why i ask is because my Hauppauge TV card uses those 2 codecs and it would be very convenient to me to record something using either. that's what i've been doing for the last 2 years with my Creative ZV:M.

i feel it's time to me to move on to a bigger screen, but i would only do it if the player supported MPEG 1 or 2. from what i've gathered, the O2 supports the two codecs, right?

no. i really mean MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. my Hauppauge PVR-250 and many other TV cards create .MPG files. with my Creative ZV:M i can record a show using the VCD profile and immediatelly transfer it to the player.

i really like my player, but i'm planning to get something else with a bigger screen. however, i dont wanna lose the convenience of my current setup. i wanna be able to transfer MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files without conversions.

it's an analog NTSC card. it creates .MPG files using the VCD, SVCD and DVD profiles. i usually use the VCD profile because:

1) the ZV:M natively supports the codec and format.
2) the loss of quality isnt noticeable on the small ZV:M's.
3) the generated files are (relatively) small.

if the S9 does not support the MPEG-1 codec, no problem. it seems the O2 does.
