My D2, X5 and as far as I can guess, every other cowon have this feature. Just wanted to be sure it was included with the S9, I find it to be a definite battery life saver.

Yes, it turns the screen off.

Yes. A short slide turns off the screen but leaves the music playing. It takes a longer hold in the off position to actually turn the S9 off.
