My S9 is not supporting Flac files, I tried syncing and drag and drop and it told me it didn't support that file. Is this something I can do to resolve the issue? Maybe by changing firmwares or is it an issue with the player itself?

Who is telling you it don't support flac files? The software you use to sync, your OS (windows, mac) or the device? I think that may be a problem with your computer, instead your S9.

The player won't tell you it doesn't support the file. It has no idea what the file is.

I got it to work by using USC mode. But I am just going to convert the files to ABR Mp3 to make things easier, hopefully the S9 can accept those.

The S9 supports both FLAC and Mp3, if it is not working for you, I would say your not using it correctly. Or the files you are attempting to put onto it are corrupted.

Agree flac file must have been corrupted or something because the S9 plays flacing great!

It's usually MTP or WMP-sync that's complaining about not supported files. This of course just means MTP can't handle all the files the S9 supports. You can just ignore these messages and transfer them anyway. Or switch to MSC, which is better in most aspects.

Well, it seems other users had the same problem :http://forum.generationmp3.com/Problme-S9-Lecture-flac-t71054.html
It also seems they have fixed the problem by renaming all the .flac extension by .fla.
I hope it will work with you too.

The S9 never tell's you anything. USB connected is like any regular Hard Disk Drive. You can put mkv, png whatever, it won't tell you anything.

there is some error code in the os that will flag things like this up. (i was wondering if they were left overs but it seems not).
