Is it possible to hide some videos in S9? Like for example, it would be nice if I can drop R rated videos in a different folder and this folder would not be automatically searched while listing movies. I wouldn't want my niece or nephew to see these movies!

You want to hide your porn
na just joking
this question has been asked before for other players and I am sorry to say no there isn't. However that is to say it not possible, that is cowon would have to be the one to do it.
You could rename the file extensions so that they don't show up on the player, then when you want to view them you can change them back. You will need to use a computer for this.

Sounds like someone is definitely trying to hide some porn! Be proud, display it for all to see.

Porn on AMOLED = win
(Theory, haven't tested it myself :P)
You could hide it behind a hell of a lot of folders.
For example Videos>1>2>3>4>5>6>7>...999>porn.avi

The short and long answer is _No_.
If you do not want them to see them, then why do you need to watch them or is it because the movies are secret movies of them?
IMHO, if you need to watch stuff like that, then you have a real problem and need expert help.
Just my 2¢ worth of opinion...

always possibility that those are highly confidential stuff that he needs for his job and can NOT allow others of the general public to see. Like those... "I can show you, but then I"ll have to kill you" type of "stuff".
then again... possibility that that scenario is true is about 1%, so let's go back to that storing porn idea. I believe the s9 only finds stuff until a certain level of folders?
so feel free to try opc100's idea?
rename it to something no one wants to watch, like "The Fast and The Furious"....its probably still a LITTLE accurate.
When I read the title to this topic first thing that came to mind was "porn". haha, I need to get my mind out of the gutter.

just make a folder with a couple of other folders in it then put a couple of folders inside each of those and put it in one of them
you might be stuck with it finding your videos anyway because i think it auto detects...ie i have my audiobooks folder outside of my music folder, but it still shows up when i sort by artist...but videos might be different...maybe put your video in a music folder and it wont show up in a video folder? idk

I wanna know what fugazi files you need to add. ;-)
Instead of browsing by the internally generated database of the video files, jump up to the top level, and go into "Folders".
That way, if the material you want hidden is in another folder (like the system folder, for instance), it is extremely unlikely that someone will navigate out of the folder that holds all of your safe videos.

While I'm not looking to put R-rated stuff on my Cowon, this guy is just asking if he can hide it. He didn't say he needed to, he just wants to, who are you to judge him? it's not illegal.
Could be r-rated in the sense that it has a lot of violence or whatever in it, r-rated does not necessarily mean anything sexual at all. All we can do is speculate.
For you to suggest the movies are of his nieces and nephews is seriously off the wall and groundless, I hope you were joking with that comment.
If you weren't joking, I seriously would wonder about you as a person and would like to say that your comment is not even worth 2¢.
Your comment was unhelpful, judgmental, groundlessly speculative, and full of insinuation.
I've seen some of your posts around the forums and you've been pretty helpful mostly, and I commend you for it[thumbsup], but honestly, that comment you made there (the nieces and nephews one especially) was seriously not cool. I'm not looking to have a big argument, and should it seem to go that way I'll give up immediately [surrend] because internet forums are not the place to have such arguments and it helps nobody. I just hope you see the point I was making.
@kanandkumar,To be helpful, I'll say that there is no way to password protect or hide material on the S9. You can make multiple folders (many folders deep) and then have the video index via the folder system so it is unlikely to be seen, but there is no guarantee. I would recommend you do not put such material onto the device if there is a chance that someone who is not of age may see it, albeit inadvertantly.

Lol. If that were the case most men (at least in Europe) would need expert help.

While this discussion is fun and all, it's really not very helpful to the OP, although I think he has already come to the conclusion that you can't really hide your files on the S9.
I'd like to say get back on topic, but then there will probably be no more replies. In any case, if you must post please keep the OP's request/thread in mind, if it gets far too cluttered it'll be closed.
Regards,
Dominic
