View Full Version : How to let the S9 play the next cd when one is finished?
Hi there,
I've got my S9 now for a week or so and lovin' it big time. But I really cannot figure out how to let the S9 play continue to play the next album when the first is done. [cry]
When I start a album to play, it plays the whole cd but when it's finished it stops. And I want it to go on with the next album in row. Please tell me what to do cause I must do something wrong?[yes]

As far as I know, the only way to do it is queue the album up in Folder view (not Album/Artist). Of course, this'll only work if your albums are organised by folder. It'd be good if Cowon would allow you to set it to move onto the next album by the artist you're listening to...
Sort by "all" instead of "folder" or album?

I notice tirim4 has a D2 - on the S9 the equivalent of "All" is "Songs"... but this will just play all your music irrespective of album/artist (unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible...)

If you browse for songs, you will get the list of all the songs in the device, but they are listed alphabetically (using tags). The only way I founded is to name the files with the number of track (example: Primordial - 06 - The Rising Tide.mp3) then, you can add the whole album to favorites (just with one click), and in favorites you get the songs you added listed alphabetically by file name.

No, if you flip music menu you can press a button that let's you choose shuffle/not shuffle, repeat/not repeat, and whether to play 1/folder/all songs.

Yes, that works if you browse by folder.
what the devil are people talking about? sorry, i just read the thread posts and got horribly confused, so I'll straighten it out. "Songs" doesn't play by album, so that really does not answer his question. And the only "All" is in the playback options (Shuffle, Repeat, Etc)...the other (kind of) is within each Artist's Album list, called "All tracks", it will play every song by that artist but still stop after that artist's albums are done, it will not go to the next artist. So to play every album by a single artist, sort by "Artists" and choose "All tracks" under your chosen artist. To play albums consecutively regardless of artist, read below.
THE LOWDOWN
if you want to play album to album through the entire player, the only way to do that is to choose by "Folder" which is the first option in your browser. and when you pick a song you will be sent to the Music view. In that, switch your playback options to "All", and it will play every song by its filename(?), so it will play in the correct track order, if your music is sorted correctly, and go to the next artist alphabetically when one artist is completed. if you just throw all your music into a folder and let tags sort it out, you are SOL...luckily programs like mediamonkey can sort and rename all of your files for you.
im sure this was said in a post in this thread, but it was so jumpy that i decided to organize it. hope this helps.
