I'm trying to learn how to create themes for the Cowon S9 (I have Photoshop, and flash).

I'm trying to follow the guide here (http://www.cowonglobal.com/zeroboard/zboard.php?id=C08&category=&no=352&bmenu=support&category=27).

The only problem is that I can't open up "mainmenu1.fla"

I have Macromedia MX 2004, and Macromedia 8 (The entire suites)
Every time I try and open up "mainmenu1.fla," Flash gives me an error

"Failed to open document. /Users/****/Desktop/mainmenu_081223/mainmenu1.fla."

I'm on OSX 10.3.9
Someone please help, as I would really like to contribute!

*EDIT*

The original username I created was CPhotographer, but the email never came, and the mods never activated my account.. So now I am Caleb369.

Unfortunately that did not solve any problems. I tried opening it in Flash 8 Professional after moving it to the root folder on my hard drive. I still get the same error, and I am going to try re-downloading the file to see if it was a bad download. I will edit this post with the outcome of my attempt. [sad]

*EDIT*
No jones.. I think it has something to do with this file:
*Being created on Windows, most likely
*Being created in a different version of Flash

If the Cowon S9 runs Flash 7, why would you need CS4? I'm confused...[confused]

Well in reality you can go as low as Flash MX 2004 but i guess you can get cs4 if you need access to as3 (for other projects)

Edit: just saw that you're actuially using mx 2004 now. Not sure what the problem is...maybe your copy is corrupt
Edit Again: acutally you're proly right about it being published in a newer version... I'll upload you a copy published in mx 2004 and we'll see if that works.

Here ya go: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=053081b7f31d2eb736df4e8dca141969e04e75f6 e8ebb871
It was published for mx 2004 so it should work if that was indeed the problem. Best of luck :)

For me the mainmenu1.fla can't be open with Flash 8 but with CS4. Just tested it.

Yes it does. Flash 8 and cs4 is different versions of adobe flash program.

Here is the link to the hompage:
Adobe flash CS4 (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/?promoid=BPDEE)

Yes, I know that they are different versions.. What I'm saying is that if the Cowon S9 runs Flash 7, then why can't Flash 8 open the file?

Well I would like to say thanks a lot to insta! Instead of telling me that I need CS4, he converted the file into a format that will open properly.

Thank you a lot Insta!! I greatly appreciate it!

You have two different files types fla and swf. The fla must be compatible with your Flash version and the swf must be compatible with you Flashplayer version.

I have Flash 8 Professional.
It is part of the suite, it is not the player.
Anyways, it does not matter now, as the file is opening, and I can move/edit all of the elements.[yawn]
