hello, i am new to this forum and i'd like some infos :D
i have always been fascinated by these cowon players ant the s9 rocks :D
first of all i had an ipod touch g1 but i have sold it cus it sounded like crap and didn't have the chance to listen through a LOD+amp [no]
so i have decided on the corda 3move and some pretty expensive cans HD650 and some ath esw9 + a pair of ksc75, px100, igrados and some ue sfi5 pro :D which i already own
ok, let's get to the point will an amped s9 sound better than unamped?
because i already read that hpo through the amp doesn't sound as good as as true lo and i am asking you about it
i have already saw some guys here with s9 and a 3move and i want to ask them ... does it really make a difference the amp for the s9?
secondly i would like to now if the 2G touch sounds better than the S9 through the LO ?
because i heard lots of guys on head-fi claiming this and i am pretty lost now, i just don't know what to choose s9 or touch 2G ... please i would appreciate any help ;)

The Cowon S9 will sound better through an amp, as it negates some of the bass roll off problems it has. And with a decent EQ setting an amped S9 will sound better then an amped iTouch.

now i'm inclining towards the touch + lod + 3move but i am not so sure ...

s9+3m+ie8 > it sounds ok to my ears (much more powerful), s9 alone has weak amp output (and 32 is max., from 33 to 40 its the same)
i have also u10, d2, clip, s639f... overall, clip is best sounding cheap monster!! (a>b comparison on 3m+hd600 / no amp+ie8)

I'm just wondering how on earth that is fair... an amped iPod touch 2G via LOD will definitely sound better than a S9 without amp. Simply unfair.

maybe this is a stupid question but I was just wonerding: could you use a LOD with the s9?

does tat mean itouch would sound better? my sansa clip amped is jus 10-15% better than a S9 wth EQ, amping is almost useless. everyone is telling me to amp wth a ipod. [surrend]

Because the ipod has a good lod, when just about no other player uses that, why most people only like to use amps with ipods.

I see alot of forumers amp their cowon, sansa, sony even. double amping doesn't really worth? or they need more power to drive their headphones/IEMs? can anyone enlighten me?

LOD = Line Out Dock

iPod jack with a cable connected to a 3.5mm male plug.
