hey guys- my 1st message.
i m a d2 owner 4 2 years and had alot of fun with it.
but i've decided that tuchscreen and music dont go so well together so i've decided its time 4 a change.
2day morning i bought the sandisk sansa fuze 4 the music- i like something with actualll buttons that u can press.
and now i want 2 get a pmp player 4 movies only.
now the o2 looks atracting.
i've read some angry comments here but the only thing i need from this device is this: good batterry life and the fact u dont need 2 convert movies.
i dont really care about recording, cables, UI etc.
i just want 2 through some movies there and watch them.
now what this threat is al about is the batterry life.
i know they say its 8 hours but i'm sure its not like that under normal useage
(35 volume and maxed brightness) so could u please tell me 4 how long u was able 2 watch movies?
5 reall hours would have been great. so please post here your oppinion about the batterry life :-)
thanx, jo.
*and btw sorry 4 the poor english :-(
i actually think they have been understating the battery life. it sez 18 hours of music, but i'm pretty sure my O2 held for about 20 hours last week (seriously, i did the math).
since you're more about the moovees, i guess that's not very helpful. but you can easily watch 2 (i mean TWO, not TO) movies, at around 1.5-2 hours each, back to back. quite enough for a longer car/train ride or a flight. you seem to be the perfect O2-user: no whining, complaining, wishing, dreaming, ranting...
hope that helped

thank you.
yeah i m flying pretty much thats 1 of the reasons i'm seeking 4 a device can play @ least 2 movies in a row.
so u did helped me alot thanx.
but just making sure: have u actually watched 2 movies that u r so sure or u just asume it can do so?
and another technical question: can u zoom into the movie?
coz here in israel most of the movies come in 3:4 frame while the movie itself is 9 to 16 ratio and the button partt of the frame (wich is black) uses 4 the subtitles wich i dont need. so if i wish 2 zoom into the movie so only the movie itself will show- is it possible? i kknow it works on the a2 but i'd like 2 make sure it works here as well.
and just 4 the record why i want this pmp?
well it cost less than the a3 and i hate big and heavy stuff in my pocket and the o2 seems 2 be the most compact pmp (the pmp's that actually preform very well)
beside that i dont need more than 16 gig 4 movies-as i was saying i got another device 4 music. i mean co'mon who the hell will watch more than 20 movies in few days?
and again thank you 4 helping me ^_^

Yes you can watch a minimum of two movies, i have watched even more in a row, I think it was 3 and a half, but the battery was not full.
You can zoom in (pan and scan) and change aspect ratio (auto, 4:3, 16:9 etc etc) so that the video fills all the 4.3 inch screen
Yes I also got the O2 cos it is comapct but doesn't skimp on buld quality or features such as a speaker, large screen and codec support.
i didnt in fact watch them back-to-back, actually, coz i had to change trains. but it still worked, even though i had to turn it off in between... so no worries about that. where d'you get these movies from, that have the subtitles hard-coded into the bottom part of the video? download? dvdrip?
weight-wise i think the O2 is a good choice, because it's not that heavy for its size, but i've got no idea how it compares to other PMPs. btw, the O2 has 32gb PLUS expandable memory thanks to an SD-card slot.

thank you guys.
now i'm sure i want this owsome device!
and i knnow that there is 32 gig version but as i was saying.
since i'm not going 2 load any music on there it leaves me 16 gigs free 4 movies.
since the movies i download weight 700 mb it says i got room 4 over 20 movies.
i dont belive i need anymore than that.
coz even on a 1 week trip i wont watch that much movies.
i really dont think i need the 32 gig.
anyways thank u both. helped me alot.
now i'm defenetly getting this device.
ill purchese it next week.
Good luck and congratulations. Hope you enjoy your O2!

well you probably for one thing were using earbuds (less impedance = less power consumption) and you were probably listening to it at a lower level than cowon's battery life test...
I love cowon! they test their battery life at a reasonable level that humans listen to. Its not like apple where they only say ipods last 18 or so hours and truly don't because they test at such low volumes and their batteries are cheaper than dirt.
oh and i also agree.. The op makes a great new addition to our social team.

On the brightness, I usually only need to use level 1 for the screen's brightness. I find that I can see the screen pretty good on that level.

Very true, i never turn up above level 1 indoors. One time I went outdoors and wanted to watch the underworld movie. Since the scenes in that movie are pretty dark i had to turn up the brightness. But that is the only time I have done so, the vivid setting helps if you think brightness level 1 is a bit dim to increase contrast/brightness without sacrificing battery life too much.
I use my O2 mostly for videos: TV shows and movies. I haven't timed the battery or really paid that much attention but I don't seem to have to charge it as often as other players.
I once did time my Archos 504 at 5 hours between charges and I'm sure the O2 gets quite a lot more than the Archos. I'm not sure how much.
I listen with the speaker most of the time. Just now and then I'll use headphones.
I keep the brightness fairly low because it looks better that way and that probably helps some. As summer comes and I use it outdoors more that may change.

ok, thank you all.
now i'm sure buying it.
can u just tell me if the screen quallity is sutesfying you? (i mean the resolution)
i used 2 have psp and my good freind had the a2 but that was much time ago so i dont remember the quallity on this res.
and some 1 said something about the speaker: well- not gonna use it. i'm headphone guy- i like evrything high quallity or nothing @ all [rolleyes] and from my experience speakers and outdoor doesnt fit 2gether. (since i'm not using it in my place)
and once again thanx 4 your oppinion. getting it 4 sure- just waitning 4 my paycheck [blush]

To tell you the truth if I hadn't seen on the reviews and specification sheets that the O2 has a 480x272 resolution I would not have been able to tell.
Everything looks good on the 4.3 inch screen. Not the highest resolution in the market but it more than makes up for it in screen-size and battery life.

YEAH I GUESS YOU RIGHT... since u dont hold the player 1 inch from your face (like in the d2 case) i guess the res is not that matter..
thanx again :-)
You are very welcome....if you need anything else explained just ask and I will be more than happy to help.......
