I have a few questions about the S9 that i could not find answers to. Under the S9 tech specs it lists recording via mic and line in i am wondering what file format the recording is in and what quality? Also is it capable of recording from the built in radio? Does line in recording only support sound or is there line in video recording as well and if so what is the video file format and video quality of the recording? The A3 lists video recording as ASF with a max of 720x480, 3Mbps.

Another thing that concerns me is that under codec support for the S9 Divx is not explicitly listed has Cowon got to the point were is just not listing all the codecs becuase they feel it should be know that they are supported by default? I did read somewhere on here someone saying that it did in fact support Divx. I assume that would mean it would support the old divx formats as well as the new old meaing like 3.1. Also i was interested in any other formats/codecs that is supports but are not listed.

Compareing the S9 tech specs to the A3 it just seems like the A3 has much longer lists under categories like video codec and audio codec.

your help in answering these questions is greatly appreciated.

WMA, you can select 64kbps to 256kbps.

Yes

I don't have any Divx movies, but I'll convert a xvid to divx and get back to you.

EDIT: It plays it perfectly

sounds good just making my decision harder i guess. it would seem that with the S9 hardware specs it should be able to handel any codec as long as its coded in the firmware. does anyone know if the Line-in is video or audio only? I guess there wouldnt be much use for a video line in if it couldnt record video?

I don't think anyone has a line-in yet so...

i take that to mean the line in requires a special cabel that was not included and needs to be baught seperately?
