Loving the S9(first time Cowon purchase) but i'm having an issue with charging the device. I'm unable to get the device to show that its in a charging state while connected directly to the USB ports on my pc.

The device is recognized and all drag and drop functions work fine(running WinXp Pro SP3) but it only shows up on the S9 as USB Connected, or Disconnected when i remove it from Win Xp while still connected. Just wondering is the device charging in this state.

The charging scrolling logo will appear during the boot up stage of the operating system but the operating system hangs and stalls so i have to disconnect the device and reconnect after the boot up process.

Also the battery does seem to drain very quickly - - -i'm aware the BBE settings can drain the battery but to me it seems pointless adding these great audio settings if the battery drains at such a fast rate - - -audio volume under 30 and brightness at 4.(this was one of the reasons why i thought it may not be charging correctly)

The green battery bar initially shows up as full but drains way too fast for my liking with blue tooth off - - i've only had it for a day and i know the first chargers are the most important.

Also a little dispappointed that no data transfer is possible with blue tooth - - -i thought this was the case.

The battery is charging whilst plugged into the usb and will say it's full once done.

The battery will drain fast if you're like me and keep fiddling with it, the 55 hour mp3 playback comes from i believe volume 14 and you flick the switch at the bottom quickly to the left, i also put mine on hold so i can use the buttons but no touchscreen as doing this makes it go black anyway.

After doing this i find the battery lasts an age.

But i find in video it drains but i reckon the 11hrs quoted is reasonable, mine is at 6 brightness to probably more like 8 hours.

I noticed it gets the 3/4 very fast (within a couple of hours) and then to 1/2 not so long after that. Seems to stay on 1/2 for a while though.

Thanks for the quick replies to my questions - - -i've left the device connected for longer than 5hrs with no indication on the display that it is fully charged or has stopped charging.(the battery bar is full just no indication during the charge process that it is completed.)

Also i've been able to delete mp3 files from within the device but it wont let me delete movies or recorded files from within the device - - -is this normal - - -i can delete through windows though.

Thanks again.

To delete videos and recordings, you have to navigate the correct way to them in the browser app. Open up the browser and go to the root directory, now you then must go in to the 'Folders' option, and not the 'Recordings' or 'Videos' options. Once in 'folders', you will then see 'recordings' and 'videos' listed again, you can then go into these and delete the files of your choice.

The key is to go into 'Folders' and navigate from there.
