Well i got my o2 today and threw all of my file formats at it where it accepted them without hassle... Then i tried getting a few more videos onto the 8gb SDHC memory card i got with it.. To be specific its a kingston card from newegg that i got for 20 bucks. I loaded some files onto it and stuck it in and it says connecting... like its about to connect, but it says connection failed. I tried emptying the files and taking the name KINGSTON off of the drive name and it seemed to work for a while in my o2. So i loaded some stuff onto it once more to be sure of this and it works.. but later on suddenly no dice once again.. Slightly aggrivated i go back to format again.. still doesn't work. [help][help]

I once used a kingston microSD with a adaptor and connection failed, like you said. But sometimes it could connect, sometimes not. So, maybe you should change another SD card.
Hmm, I can try one later. Bought the 32gb, and was going to wait out the 32gb SDHCs for their prices to drop. But I have old SD cards around, so I can test.

I've got a 32GB SDHC card in my 32GB O2 and while I haven't had the problems you have had, it was initially a little fluky. I loaded like 30 gigs of music on it and I could only see about 1/3 of the folders for the first couple of days - I noticed it because I had the player on random and it was only playing stuff from the A's to the E's in my collection. Suddenly after a day or two the other folders showed up and I've been fine since.
I have a question to those O2 owners in the know. I just recieved my O2 yesterday and I put all 29gb of my music on the internal flash drive, I have a 16gb sd card in the slot and it is recognized, my question is when I put more music files on the sd card and set the player to all and shuffle will it play those files on the card as well as the internal flash memory? or will I have to select which memory to play from?
Thanks

I was thinking about the slightly more expensive PNY card... guess i should've trusted my instincts. Its cool though im not near up to the 16gb mark yet, i actually got the card just for videos and pictures just to be organized and then put all my music on the o2. I guess i can compromise for now. Newegg probably won't let me return something as small as an sd card especially cuz the packaging is that annoying stuff you ave to cut with scizzors [wacko]

You have to select which memory to play from - for this reason I'm keeping all of my Music on my 32GB SD card and my videos on the player itself.
Thanks Chrome CW, for the answer. Since my music collection is ever growing, I split it into two groups, one internally, the other on an sd card.

I've got a 16gb class 6 Transcend SDHC card and haven't had any issues with it but I've only run videos off the card.
I had a problem with a new 16gb Transcend card and loaded about 6gb of musc on it and it worked until I upgraded the firmware from v1.11 to v1.14 and for some unknown reason the card no longer worked. I went back to v1.11 and still no go, so 35.00 gone down the drain. I tried a 2gb card and it works just fine. From no on I will remove any cards during firmware upgrades.
