WOOHOO i ordered my cowon o2 via newegg.com and it left the warehouse today (I just hope they refund my rush processing which promised me less than 24 hours). You will see me here often giving my input on what i think (after a couple more firmware updates) may be the best pmp on the market. So far i've picked up from others that it is a better video player and for audio freaks, they'd want the d2.. I looked at the specs and the o2 has the same audio specs as the d2 except for the one feature that puts it over the top, the 10 band eq. I played around with the 15 band one in jet audio and it's amazing. Reads from right to left from lower frequencies to high frequencies and having 10 bands to adjust individually along with each one's width and freq definately makes it potentially sound much better than the d2 (of course if you're like me and know what you're doing)... So if you like easy good sound, THEN go with the d2. But if you like HARDCORE EPIC sound and know how it all works and don't care about the extra bulk (I'm switching from my rio karma so i don't), then this is the perfect player for me and you!!! I've spent many combined hours adjusting my 5 band eq on my rio karma along with each band's width and center and i gotta say, the time spent is well worth it especially with good headphones, because it brings out the quality that makes them expensive and worth the money.
I suggest decaf coffee from now on.:D

you've come to the right place for that... It's a little more simple than you think and with the right pair of headphones, it is well worth your time... As far as the band frequencies and width go, I don't know quite as much you just sort of toy around with those and it works out well when you know what each band sounds like....
So anyway you got your 10 bands.. Read from left to right they go from low to high. If you have awesome headphones like me, you're gonna use every single band to your advantage. If you want robust lows, then go to the band on the very left and turn that up, but not too high because even a good sounding player can sound bad. The next few bands go between low and midranges. Kind of like a symphony in a way. The first 3 bands would be like upright bass, the next couple would be like cello, the 5th-7th band would be viola and the 3 bands furthest to the right are violin. You just adjust which ones you want to hear more of.
