I don't know if anyone notices this. If you push the "hold" button up and connected O2 via usb, then O2 could be charged without connecting to the computer.
I have test this on a usb charger, and it works fine.
cool nice to know the options i will try that when i get home
Does this actually work?
I tried this with my O2 at 3 bars. Left it connected a computer via USB for a day with the hold switch engaged. I disconnected it 24 hours later and it was still at 3 bars...
It should charge. It needs to have 5V coming in from the USB. The cycle time from a dead battery is typically 3-3.5 hours on the AC adapter, and about 9-10 hours on the USB cable (with the hold button in the up position).
I have successfully charged it on the USB port. Yes, it works. I don't know why yours didn't charge. Again, check to see if it may have slipped out of the USB port on the computer.
One thought is if you didn't put the hold button in the up position BEFORE you plugged in the USB cable, then, it will not charge at all. It will lose the charge because the light is on, and it doesn't turn off. It drains the battery more than the USB cable can keep up. It is a deep cycle battery so, if you can use the USB adapter overnight, it would be better, or for shorter charge times use the AC adapter.
