Hi all,

Wanna share a discussion on Lossless WMA files. I have an amount of lossless WMA files encoded using Windows Media Player 10. Some of them are not playable by A3. I guess it might be a firmware problem (I currently use 1.23p from Cowon Korean)

The case begins when I try to play a lossless WMA song which is the "1st" song of the album, while the rest of the album can perfectly be played. It is just only the first song.

This is too strange to be a complete incompatibility between A3 and lossless WMA. Anyone experience something as me? or how would you suggest?

Thanks ... Kenta

I have a folder of APE (monkey audio), and when I go into that folder via the browser, the first song crashes the player. Every other song in that folder plays perfectly fine, and they were all decoded and then re-encoded by me, using the same method, because the "compressibility was too high", so I had to lower it.

What kind of problems are you having? Is it just skipping, or does it crash? The Monkey's Audio file have I just crashes the player and makes it restart.

I don't have files in Monkey's audio format, so I could not tell. But my case, every first song in each folder which are lossless WMA will not start to play, while the second through the last one will play perfectly.

If I try to play the first lossless WMA song in a folder it will stay at 00:00 forever, although the play symbol is shown and the CD graphic rotates. It just mute, til I skip the song to the second or anything, it will play.
