I was checking on my order for my X5 when I saw Amazon.com was selling it for
284.99 with free shipping. Just letting people know.

They know the price, which means they've already finalized negotiations with their supplier (likely Cowon America). So they're probably just waiting for their allotment to ship, I doubt it will be longer than a week before they're in stock.

It's in stock now at Amazon. I'd buy it at eCost for cheaper but I have $90 of Amazon gift certificates to use.

Yeah, it went in stock soon after I posted and I bought from them. UPS took a week (I was cheap), but I've been enjoying it for a week and a half now.

Buydig.com has had it for 284.99 for a while too, with free shipping. Let me tell you, my order with them has been the best purchase experience I've ever had. I chose free shipping, they upgraded it to Fedex express saver for free (instead of ground), and it got to me in 2 business days (ordered on Monday, shipped on a Tuesday, received on a Thursday). Get this: they shipped from New Jersey. I live in California. Plus I got cash back from Shopping.com. I couldn't be happier with Buydig.

If you're looking for an X5 keep an eye on www.ecost.com. They often have specials and I picked up mine for $264 USD + Free shipping.

Yeah, but too bad ecost has 7.95 "handling" fee and $21+ in tax for California residents. That just killed the deal for me. So I ended up with Buydig.

anyone know of a place that sells the x5 cheap but no tax?

California tax just kills so many good deals. i.e. ecost had the x5 30gb for $307 but like $30 tax. It sucks.

I ordered an X5 20GB from eBuyer, waiting for it to arrive (should be here tomorrow).

iAudio X5 20GB: 249.60
2nd Day UPS Air: 11.50
Total: 261.10

So far, everything looks good, but I'll update on it once my player arrives.
