I recently bought a A3 because I was happy with the X5L I have since 2 years. I like the Cowon products, they are of great quality.

I am happy with the A3 except for one thing : the viewing angle. When I watch videos, I take the player with a perfect 90 angle with my eyes and the sceen become dark.
To have the maximum brightness I have to rotate the player flat (like flat on a table). If I want to rotate it in front of me, it become darker.
It looks like it is a defect of the unit I got.

I would like to know if other users have experimented the same thing?

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Julien

I've actually been pretty impressed with the viewing angle on mine, maybe it's specific to your player? I don't know what could be different unless the backlight is just weak on yours or something though. I've watched movies on the lowest brightness on airplanes and I usually have it at 5/10, hasn't been a prob for me.

Thanks for your reply otterpopjunkie.

I will contact Cowon, it looks like there is something wrong with my player.
I need to put it on the maximum brightness value and still, I need to turn it at a strange angle to view it well.

yes mine is great as well. I was on a plane last night and there was a lot of glare... I had to turn the player ~45 degrees into me so that I could see the video without glare. It worked very well this way.

the only angle mine darkens out at is looking top down, which is the hardest to see anyways, so yeah, no problems here
