how is the scroll speed of the x5 when searching through files? i know a few daps whose refresh rate on the screen were slow and ultimately affected the scroll speed.

to anyone who has had experience with the customer service of iaudio/cowon: would you say that they're helpful? or not, as some companies are

and finally this was written in the warranty explanation for daps at cowonamerica.com:
"Physical damage policy

Physical damage to any product purchased at COWON America.com will effectively void our General Return Policy."

could any explain this a bit more? does this mean if you were to crack your screen within the warranty period, they would no repair it? what does this statement encompass?

thanks for all your help

1) The scroll speed is good, not smooth scrolling though, but jumps a line at a time. works well and fast once you get used to it.

2) My only experience is with Cowon Sweden, when I e-mailed them to ask when 5XL would be in stores. I received near-instant reply that they don't have an exact date, but would get back to me as soon as they know better. About ten days later I received another e-mail where they told me that a shipment is about to leave Korea and should be on shelves in no less than 7 days.
VERY impressed, given that the Swedish take on customer service is almost always 'Let's pretend we didn't get the mail, and maybe he'll go away'

3) I don't think the General Return Policy (whatever that is, you really should check this out) is the same as warranty, that would make the statement you quoted illegal in most states, I think. At least in CA & NY.

when you say it jumps a line at a time is that because the refresh rate for the screen is too slow? or it's designed to jump. also..by "jump" does it skip lines or does it go down each file just not as smoothly as, let's say, the ipod?

It doesn't skip lines. The longer you hold down the joystick, the faster the search will go.

I mean the screen is designed to scroll bt line of text rather than by pixel
