I am about to purchase my first player with a $400 gift credit from my job for Amazon.com. I would like video play capability but am not confident enough to void my warranty with unauthorized firmware. After looking over all of the reviews and discussions I can find, I am 95% sure I'm getting the X5 despite minor concerns over screen quality, mini-docks, and file trees.
I have been looking at Amazon's German site to anticipate what will be coming soon to the US. The X5 will be available soon in 20, 30, and 60 gb, the X5L in 20, and 30.
THE QUESTION:
How many gbs are practical to manage. My impulse is to get a 60 for status, but I suspect that 30 would be more than enough to handle my music and photos along with some audio books. Are there drawbacks to having too much memory?
AND:
Is it worth sacrificing the 4 mm of sleekness for the amazing battery life of the X5L. I dont do international travel and could probably by accessories with the savings to accommodate such circumstances.
Both concerns are probably too personal for definite answers, but opinions are appreciated.
