Perhaps there may be some of iaudiophile members who live in Thailand. Just to inform that X5 is currently on sale in Thailand. They are imported by a local company under the brand "Xenn". Actually they just put stickers on the box, but inside is the same. My x5 comes with the same firmware that european and us units have. The package also include a leather protective case; it's not optional like the us and eu version, but no remote control as expected.

I thought I would never had a chance to get my hands on x5, since there is no distributors or even resellers of iaudio in Thailand. For several months I had desperately searched the net for the e-tailers who ship to Thailand. I got no luck so far. Suntec would not ship to Thailand. Although there are some e-tailers that do ship, the price is outragious. I would have to pay like 500$, not even included the import tax. Just this morning, I found a Thai website saying that x5 30gb is on sale for 15800 Baht included Vat (around $400) at the "ComMart expo" which starts today (and will end a few days soon) at the Sirikit National Convention Center. This is really the first time someone imports iaudio daplayers and markets them in Thailand, they sell only the x5 30gb though. No x5 20gb, x5l, or other iaudio models. Just X5 30gb.

Ok that's just for your information that X5 is now available in Thailand. Grab them while they last.

btw here is the homepage of the company that imports X5, although they haven't listed the x5 on the homepage yet. http://www.comseven.com/ If you live in Thailand, you should be familiar with their name. They are one of the major importers of IT products in Thailand.

Can they be bought in BKK? Maybe MBK?

15800 baht is bloody expensive for Thai prices.

Yes they can be bought in BKK (Bangkok). I'm not sure about MBK (Mabunkrong department store). But since x5 is considered to be the same category as computer products, I think you will have more chance to find them at Pantip Plaza. (not far from MBK, actually)

For the price, well that's life. (T T) Actually 15800 is the promotion price. The full retail price is 17300 (>.<) So for 15800, I think the price is not too cruel considering that ipod 4g 20gb is priced around 14900 Baht here. Other brands are as expensive as well. X5 seems to be the best option we have for the price and features.

I've never actually managed to find Pantip Plaza, although I've heard about it. What BTS Sky Train stop is it near? The same as MBK I guess.

Those prices are silly compared to what you can get in MBK for similar equipment.

If you walk from MBK across the intersection you will find Siam Center and If you walk a little further till another intersection, you will see World Trade Center. There is a BTS station there. And Pantip Plaza is just behind the World Trade Center.

I know where the World Trade Centre is thanks. I'll have to look harder next time for the Pantip Plaza.

Thanks. I'll be there in August so will have a gander.
