View Full Version : Flash skin: cover.jpg album art not shown until pause & unpause

The title describes the problem. I'm using Fishfutter's "iTouch" flash skin, which, in my opinion, radically improves D2's cluttered 'now playing' interface. The problem is I can only get album art to properly display in MP3 files, when storing the images through the ID3 tagging scheme. With OGG files, for instance, you have to place a cover.jpg in the same directory the music is. In that case, the album art is only shown when you press "pause" and then "play", not immediately after you start the song playback, as one would expect.

I guess that this can be a bug caused by the flash development UI, hence madman updating his iT2 flash skin to use the newly developed UI version. So, is there a way to fix it by editing the swf file? Something related to 'action scripts', possibly?

P.S. Fishfutter: I've tried other flash skins, like iT2, but yours seems to me to be the better overall. If you are reading this, it'd be really great to have a fix for the above issue.

P.S. moderation: move this thread to "D2 Troubles & Problems" if you see fit.

Thanks to everyone.

quick question: album art does not "lag" when the art is embedded within the music file right? also, with Madman's iCowon theme, will new album art have to be embedded?

Embedded Album Art seems to be the only route at the moment. till further notice Embedded is the only choice for now.

I have the same problems as you westclox. Downloaded iTouch 3.53b - v1.10.rar and iTouch Skin.rar again today. Theme works completely as far as I can tell. Cover art for flash has same problems as before with pause and play issues you describe. Now, with fw3.54 cover art shows junk - even after pausing and playing. Album info (middle part of the screen) does not show correctly either when switching from one artist to another without pausing and playing. I use OGG files exclusively and cannot comment on MP3. I hope Fishfutter finds the time and passion to fix, IMO, the best theme going for D2.

No, the cover.jpg method works fine with iCowon.

I'm working on a new iTouch version, but it will take me some more time cause (well I have a life besides my D2)

I'm still using firmware 3.53b, and the junk cover art thing isn't a problem. I agree that the iTouch is the best skin available for the D2.

It is a problem in 3.54. most of the old skins dont work correctly with it.

Hi Fishfutter,
am desparately waiting for the working iTouch flash that would work with 3.57. If possible it would be appreciated leaving the bookmark function working. To gain some space the repeat functions could be moved into a popup menu. Also Rigoberts modification of the button locations (at least the folder button to the bottom) seems to be useful for me.
Perhaps you can omit the play/pause button and put this function directly in the middle of the title art.

Thanks
Jo
