hi there,


I was wondering if someone could direct me to a good simple & FREE program that i can use to split .avi. for example, i'd like to create a seperate xvid from 5:43-10:43 of an existing xvid.

But yes, please don't suggest products you've never used yourself unless you can at least say "Apparently it's highly-regarded" or something to give it credibility.

There is program Watermark Master - is able split files - but not free the truth is trial,
during which it free

Probably overkill for what you need, but avidemux (http://www.avidemux.org/) will do the job very easily. Just be sure to set the audio and video codecs to "copy" so you don't end up re-encoding anything.
