Does anyone notice that the A3 runs a bit warm? At least comparing it with my creative zen and ipod. It's at least as hot as the broken lcd on the zen. Is this normal?

Mine runs a little on the "warm" side, but not hot.

I was a little alarmed when I felt how warm it was the first time I charged the A3, but no longer think anything of it after having used it for well over 100 hours. It's not hot to the touch, and one my SATA Enclosures surely runs far, far hotter than the A3 and works perfectly for stretches of 16 hours, 7 days a week.

Could also be entirely isolated to charging with the DC-in vs. USB. I haven't experimented with that yet, 'cuz it takes longer to charge via USB ...

My guess, though, is that "warm" is quite natural and nothing to be alarmed about. But if it moves into "hot" territory? Then there would probably be cause for concern.

Really? You both would classify it as just warm? Mine gets so "warm" that it makes my hand sweat just to hold it and is borderline hot. Are all portable media players like this?

Yes, the A3 gets warm but not hot. That's because it uses a hard drive.
The A2 showed the same kind of warmth.
