I've been putting my dvd collection into digitized formats for my q5 and I've been having severe problems getting it to turn out right. I'm working off of an IBM laptop with a 1.5 GHz pentium and 512 MB of RAM. Generally I use Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum, although sometimes I'll use the classic dvd decrypter and auto gk combo. Problem is that I often end up with major audio syncing issues which makes the time required to do the encoding a big waste.
Any recommendations on how to best ensure that the audio matches the video? I've been planning on upgrading my RAM anyway to at least 1 gig, but am I doing something wrong or is there an encoding method that is more efficient and less prone to this problem? For the most part I've been using divx since it's relatively fast compared to wmv. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
