Themes for Q5?

HI,
Are there already some themes available for the q5? I remember having seen an apple theme on this site, but nothing much more.

Read about the Flash UI for the D2, which would be great if we can see a flashUI for the Q5. Flash player is installed by default, so a flash UI might not be something completely impossible...

As I mentioned before I am working on a Skin currently. I used the Icon Set Buuf from Matahan. Also I was inspired by the Revision Skin for Mediaportal from created by PsychoReptile. I

'm still working on it so let me know if you don't like a part of it..
Also please let me know your honest opinion. I tried to keep it simple with nothing too special. If you think something doesn't look too good just let me know..

My next theme will be more modern with some nice effects. Something like Iphone/Vista... I just started so this might take some days until a preview is available.

I found that just changing the skin can be as effective to give a real feel of personalisation.

Below I show an example of changing the background to make it more personal - I did this for theme 02 which is otherwise dull. Just replaced Main_background.bmp in
\Program Files\Q5App\Skin\Theme02\01_Background\01_Common
I put my name before the Premium PMP stuff at the top - you can't see it that well in the picture.

Secondly, I created a whole new theme (theme 03) by just copying all the files from one theme (theme 01) and processing all of these in Photoshop with a batch process to give me a slick monotone theme. I then just loaded this back to the Q5W as a new folder Theme04 and voila a nice slick new theme. Image is of background to give the idea - all the tones in every aspect of the PMP are similar to these used here and it looks very nice but very, very samey (which I like).

Both of these together took no more than 15 minutes, so they are not supposed to be sophisticated mods, but I like the fact I can easily change the look of my beloved Q5W.

I drive an Infiniti G35 Sedan, and I plan to purchase the Navi cradle, so if I can get my Q5W to have an Infiniti theme that would be great to fit in with the car.

But I have to be honest and warn you that once you do it for one vehicle then others will hound you to make a theme for them too. I've seen it happen before with other devices I have which the theme can be changed on.

Most of the time I was searching for nice icons or making them myself so if you want to speed things up a bit you could help me find an icon set which fits the theme and also give me a sample or something so I could orientate myself to that when making the theme.

I will probably go about it the way that you suggest by changing the background. That is all I really need.

As far as icons have you tried using some of the icon packs from other applications?
I know of these from using Wisbar for my XV6700 ppc phone.

Yeah these are some pretty nice icons, but I already use such icons, collected from Deviantart. So I think I'll just finish my current theme and if you like it I can just change the coulour scheme of it and match it with the Infinity colours.. I have saved this time every PSD file for everything I changed so changes can be made quit easy when it's finished..

Hey cool, nothing special needed for me. Whatever you come up with I will happily make us of.
Whatever you make I will gladly test it out.
Of course try to use the biggest icons that you can for easier finger use, but I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

I will change the background but I have not yet found a nice one so I just took a picture from my harddrive.

I have started working on a new theme, I posted a preview of the Main Screen some posts ago.. I hadn't time working on the first one since I started but if you like it and think something can be improved let me know what should be changed.. Maybe I will even make a new theme with a more modern look but with the Buuf Icons.. But for now I am really busy and only find very little time to even work on the current theme..

But still let me know what you don't like about the skin and I'll have a look at it as soon as I have some freetime.

the Apple team I downloaded earlier (I guess for the Q5/Asian model), was missing some icons, e.g. the bluetooth icon.

Yeah, it's taking me forever too.
I haven't started on the icons yet... grah.
I do have most of the other stuff down. I guess I'm REALLY into gray or something.

Thanks for the link to the Apple Theme. I was curious to see if others are getting the same error messages when opening the video or music player....the icon on the taskbar on the bottom left seems to be imcomplete which makes me think it's the issue. Anyone else have this issue?

yes. It's gotta be a language error. No Korean symbols or the like. Pity, it's a really nice one, but the errors drive me nuts.
