Can someone please point me to some official size and weight specifications of the X5 60GB player?

Everyone seems to say that it will be the same size as the X5L 30GB - but I just can't find any official information about that. The difference between the M3 20BG and 40BG is only 14g (according to eng.iaudio.com) - perhaps the weight difference between X5 30GB and 60 GB is the same???

I would hate to buy the 30GB now - just to find out in a month or so, that the 60GB version is almost same size and/or weight.

It's in eXity's review. Everyone is saying the same, the must've sourced it from somewhere.

Yes I read that - but I'm looking for the source. Also there's no information in eXity's review about the weight.

I have seen some conflicting information elsewhere:

"En fait le 60Go a la meme taille que les autres "
= "In fact the 60GB is the same size as the others."

It is some monster-size thread, and my french really sucks. So I won't have time to find out if that information is corrected somewhere later on the thread (some 20 pages long) - cuz I must run out and do my Saturday thing. I'll look at it Monday night after work.

If you understand french, then here's the source of that information:

btw - completely off topic - on that same site I saw mentioned that the X5 may not be available in France. Which would mean that the X5 European firmware will not need to be crippled to comply with the french law (15mw per channel maximum output at 16 Ohm)

The weight is in the same place in the review as the dimensions are.

No, the review says: "iAudio X5 60GB 103.7 mm X 60.8mm X 18.3mm/22.3mm ??? g"

Darkroom - yes, there seems to be some conflicting informaion around. Thats why I would like a link to some official specifications.

The official weight of the X5 60GB model is... Unknown.
Nobody knows, that simple. You could find out how much the 20GB and 60GB harddrives that the x5 uses weigh and add the difference.

Okay, found this information about the harddrives at http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Pa...000659c00001aa9 :

The difference between 30Gb and 60 Gb is 3 mm and 11 g - the exact same difference as between the 20 Gb and 40 Gb. So, the X5 60GB must be 103.7 mm X 60.8mm X 18.3mm/22.3mm and 159 g (same size as X5L but only 14 g heavier than the 30GB!).
