I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do to display subtitles with a video.

I put the .srt file in the same folder as the video with the same filename (a.avi & a.srt), but nothing happened.

Is there any trick to display them?

hi Zewaren

Did you make sure that under the Video Settings you have "Subtitles ON"? For me it works perfectly and you can even change size and color of the subtitles.

The srt subtiles doesn't work always. I recommend using smi format of subtiles. It worked for me every time.

make sure the name of the subtitle file is exactly the same as the video file.

I also have the same problem with .srt subs, some times it works, some time not. Maybe I should try .smi. But, how to find or convert .srt to .smi?

I had this problem too until I observed that SRT files had actually SUB format with wrong extension name. I'm using Subtitle Workshop from http://http://www.urusoft.net/home.php?lang=1 (http://www.urusoft.net/home.php?lang=1) to convert it to propert format. Just open the subtitle and save it as SubRip format. It will allways work.

Sorry, no luck.

I also tried this and it does not work. I also cannot get .srt subtitles to play with any of the video's I have on my Q5W right now. I tried English and Dutch subs, but still nothing.

Ahhh played around some more with Subtitle Workshop, I opend a .srt and saved it as a .smi (SAMI Captioning) and this does show nicely on the Q5W! [thumbsup]
