Listening to some Belle & Sebastian on mine right now ;)

Now if Shure would just release the E4s... then I'd be all set.

Yeah!! I got mine on friday. I'm thinking I'm one of the only Americans to have it. I must agree...this thing is what dreams are made of. It is TINY! Pictured just don't do it justice. When I got it, and held it in my hand, i was BLOWN AWAY. Sounds awesome!!! And I now know what file tree is all about. To be honest, I kinda like it. It takes some getting used to, but if you're passionate about your music collection, then file tree is the way to go b/c of how customizable it is. I've actually been using Jet Shell and it works great. Buy an X5, you will NOT be disappointed. I know everyone says this, but it's because it's true...this is an iPOD killer. Hell, it's not even in the same league.

Thanks

@Bull Moose. I'm going to order mine on Monday. Hows the build quality? Does it feel sturdy or like a toy, and how does the eq sound? BTW file tree is the way to go, I use it on my H320 and its really convenient.

yes, just a good choice :) how may sound Kings of Convenience, Lambchop, Ladybug Transistor or the great Morrissey? if it sounds like my M3L, the only thing i can say is PERFECT.

I got mine last week. The build quality isvery solid. Better than an ipod. I am in the US and not sure who else in the US got one. If you live in the US and got one give a shout here plase. Lets see how manyUS residents are on this forum.

Im in ohio and got mine two days ago.
as for an iPod killer, i handed it to my sister who is an iPod girl, she gave up on it after 2 minutes, couldn't figgure out how to use it-- this is why it will never be an iPod killer.

iPod users are idiots? She could figure it out, she just doesn't want to, she thinks that iPods are the greatest thing ever so she will look for any reason not to like any other player because she's too stubborn to be open minded. Too much pride.

I am amazed at people that bash something with no knowledge or experience with it. I was trying to explain the versatility of UMS to someone vs the ipod's sotware dependent interface. They couldn't see the usefulness of it. They also said there is no one who NEEDS a battery that will last 15 hrs or a drive capacity that will hold thousands of songs because no one could possibly listen to all that music for that long..hehe..glad there are geniuses like this to let me know what I need...I'd be lost without them :P

Oh mighty god,
I received "it" today, and it's a beauty.
It's now sleeping on my pillow(charging) after that he will get his new software and music. to bad I only have a few 1.1 usbports on my computer, that will take ages before something is on the x5. problems,problems,problems...

I live in NY and love mine. This device can be an ipod killer but not with out id3 tags info....yeah...yeha. I know you nay sayers out there who say file browsing is the best thing since electricity but......... The majority of the population actually do use it. I am getting used to life with out it. I just sold my H10 on Ebay yesterday. A guy gave me a fair price for it. I also am selling my Olympus C505 which works with the x5 USBOTG. I just can't figure how to convert mpeg movies for the x5. I am looking all over the file menu of jet audio and can't seem to find out how to do it. It is supposed to be easy but how about a menu that actually says "convert video" or mabe,...just maybe..."mpg file conversion".

zaph,

Did you install the JetAudio that came on the CD included with your X5? If so, it should look like this:

Then just click the button and add the files... it's really easy.

6.1.6.6404 iAUDIO X5

It might've been this file from the Korean site...

http://ihome.iaudio.com/iaudio_board/zeroboard/zboard.php?id=C08&page=1&sn1=&divpage=1&bmenu=iAUDIO&sn=off&ss=on&sc=on&select_arrange=headnum&bmenu=iAUDIO&desc=asc&no=205&bmenu=iAUDIO

I can't remember, I installed a couple of things.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I'm a North Carolina resident and I love my X5. It feels solid as a rock. Even given its very small size, it doesn't feel like it's gonna break in your hand. I'm a quasi-audiophile and I think it sounds awesome. I've got a pair of Sony MDR-7506's and Shure E2C's and they are both driven very well through the device. It can produce a very respectable amount of bass and through the Shure's, I'm gettin as much bass as I could ever want. The best part is how customizeable the sound fields are. You get an equalizer as well as several other sound effects. Through the E2C's to me the X5 sounds powerful.

I'm in the same boat as the guy from NY with the X5. How in the world do you convert DVD's to the X5? I want Family Guy on my X5 NOW!

luuk
05-24-2005, 05:55
I just saw my first family guy episode on the x5, I must say, with fast movement it's not that good (or maybe it's the quality of the file, but I think it's the framerate), but that's a little detail, the rest of the episode was perfect. The little screen or 'low' screen quality didn't bother me at all.

You have to rip the dvd's. Depending on where you live that might be illegal. If it is your own recordings then it would be easy.
