View Full Version : Using p2p and bittorrent on Q5W??
Hello, I have been reading the forum for the past few weeks (that's when I found it) because i'm obviously debating no buying either the Cowon A3, the Q5W or the Archos 605 wifi but i'm having an extreme hard time making that choice, everyone has their advantages and disadvantages [wacko]
I wanted to know if anyone that has the Q5W know if you can or will be able to in the future to install a p2p program such as Limewire and a be able to download torrents using a bit torrent program??? Lastly can the Q5W play winamp streams?? Can Windows CE even do any of those things??

I realy, realy cannot understand why p2p is that good guys, if you want free music video software dont use those shitty programs but us usenet, so much faster and more anonymous.........on the winamp thing i realy have no clue, it does playback every file i threw at it, from avi to mpeg4 divx and stuff like that.

The Problem is actually finding a p2p client for Wince 5.0 and the mips processor. You would then have to find out how to hack it into the thing. Each player would have similiar issues.
oh, so not even any chance of using bittorrent ? as I use torrents much more than p2p anyways.
Hell, i'd want a torrent client for legal downloading (as well as a little of the other kind). Anyone know if CE 5 supports Java? If it does, then there is the possibility of getting Azureus to work.

Same here, if I could use a torrent client as well as being able to download stuff off internet pages, then I wouldn't almost ever need to connect it to a pc.

Shh! Don't tell mommy ;).
However, believe it or not, there are some legal downloads released on Torrents (un-licensed Anime?).

I believe that is sorta legal, once a big company in the US buy its right you can't download off those sites so, it im guessing it's legal. So any news on the torrent client situation?? this could make it or break it lol come on someone.
well if someone could get limewire working it has torrent support now :D that would be useful
The 605 has qtopia now, so it should be very easy to compile an open source bittorent app to it. You should go try asking on the archosfans forums http://forum.archosfans.com/viewforum.php?f=34
