I just ordered my A3 tues. I just found your site.. I think this site is a little over my head as far as tech knowledge, so hopefully joining will make me a smarter boy..[laugh]

I have been reading about the video "issues" I guess is the right word to use. I currently own a Creative Zen Vision M. I have been comepletly satisfied with it. I just wanted a bigger screen and decided to try something of a different brand.
I did have to convert some video with the creative, and after that it played fine on the ZVM. In some of these cases where the A3 didn't play back or poorly is the video in question able to be converted...? I just hope this player is pretty straight foward, I'm not real techy... The Zen was pretty easy for me to navigate.. Is the A3 easy to navigate and convert things if need be? I strongly considered a Zen Vision W, but went with the A3 for something different.. Sorry if this is a newb. or even stupid question..

thanks for any feedback

most of the issues are with video that is at or near HD resolution, or with codecs and containers that are not in widespread use among the masses.

i will make an educated guess and say that your videos will play just fine on the a3.

but if not, you can convert them easily enough and we can help. :)

I think that JetAudio can do some conversions. But the great thing is that you can use whatever software you want to convert video for the A3. The best converters are usually free - Avidemux, VirtualDub (+XviD and lame codecs), MeGUI, MediaCoder etc.
