I am going to buy an X5 20GB but I don't know if I should just buy from Cowon now or wait till it starts coming out in other stores. A few questions:

1. When do you think it will start coming out in other online stores?
2. Will it be cheaper than $299 on other online stores?
3. When do you think it will start releasing in walk-in stores such as Best Buy, etc.?

It should be available elsewhere in a week or so.
It will definately be cheaper, by how much I don't know, possibly up to $30
I don't think it will ever be in any walk in stores

I have to make the hard decision of whether to wait or not too.

I'm waiting, the extra money saved will go towards accessories. It's a good idea considering the X5 doesn't come with many.

Yeah, I'll most likely wait also, if I can handle it. I don't think it is possible to wait any longer!

I couldn't possibly wait, so I bit the bullet and bought from Cowon, mainly because I felt I could trust them. In CA, the tax for a $350 unit was $27. I got a 30 GB obviously.

Yeah, the wait has been killing me too. But I've been waiting for months, what's another week.

Just got my confirmation from Cowon America that my x5 has been shipped via UPS 3-day select. Waited 8 months, so 3 days is ok. I have a tracking number and tracking it every 5 mins. :-)

Failed to mention I ordered from Suntec first and they said it was shipped via sea freight and is due this friday. So how is it that Cowon can ship so soon. I wonder if it is just the accessories they shipped. I ordered the case and cradle.

Well, I ordered the X5 on Sat. and with el cheapo shipping, It'll be here on Wed. according to UPS. I dunno if 3-day or faster shipping is the way to go, seems like the shipping is pretty good, but I'm in Sacramento, and I believe the ships unload in LA, because it was in Cerritos @ 7:30 ish EST today.

Damn all we americans...hmmmm ok. Yeah laser60.....I did not lie but i reread the ups shipping confirm they sent me and it said that it did NOT ship. That was just a confirmation that they recieved the shipping INFO from COWON. It'll probably shipp this week as will Suntec. I cancelled my order with Suntec because they did not carry the 30gb or any accessories. It will ship the same as Cowon.
