Line-in Encoding bitrates

Judging from the on-line pdf manual I downloaded, 128 kbps seems to be the only (?) bitrate available. Contrary to most people, I would like to use lower bitrates (64 or even 32 kbps) so my question is, does the G3 support lower bitrates than 128 for line-in encoding?

The following bitrates are available in 1.25 firmware:
mp3 at 128, 112 and 96 kbit
wave at 32, 16, 11 and 8 kHz.
For voice recording it's the same.

Im wondering why not at least 160 and 192kbit is given also ?
Too low CPU power in the G3 ?
So no chance for further improovment there ?

Do you guys know of any link to contact Cowon/iaudio to request higher (and lower)bitrates with additional firmware?
