maybe none of the i7 users use the media centre?
usually, people just drag-drop files using windows explorer as all COWON players show up as removable drives in windows.
if you want to use jetAudio, open the Media Center.
you'll notice 4 medium large buttons at the left of the equalizer.
use them to bring up device sync panels.

Yea i tried the 4 buttons on the left of the equalizer. But even with the portable device manager selected, the bottom window is completley blank and theres nothing i can do with it.
And yes, my iAudio7 is plugged in.

My main problem now is how to arrange my songs, theres no way to see your songs based on some criteria like artist or album name, which my 2nd gen ipod nano had o.O. It also just copies the filename, so i have a lot of songs like 01-XXXXX.mp3 which just looks ugly.
Is there any way to copy the songs in an existing playlist, folders and all, over to the iAudio7? That way i can keep the songs in their own individual folders which are sorted by album names.
r u using vista? while i was writing the new jetAudio manual, i found out that in some computers running vista (including my PC), the Sync section just doesn't appear at all!
but it works perfectly in one of my friends PC...

I'd strongly suggest getting something like MediaMonkey both to catalog the songs on the PC and to move them to the portable player. Ok, it's pretty much audio only, but that what I use my I7 for.
Question

Yea im using Vista. So it doesnt work for vista? Havent they fixed that?! Vista has been out for ages...you would think there would be a version of Jetaudio where that works.
Will MediaMonkey sort the files properly onto my player properly?
Is there any way to get the iAudio7 to display the song name and not the filename?
Also, is there any way to stop the lyrics viewer from popping up on certain songs?
I'm guessing your songs are tagged correctly?
Turn on ID3 tagging on the player, that might be the problem. Also, you might be using the folder viewer mode.

They should be, they display correctly in my ipod, and my player is using ID3 tagging. Im using the default mode, which is probably folder viewer. Are there any other modes?

Preferences > File > Lyric Viewer > uncheck "show lyric......"

Hmm same here...my sync area is completely empty.
If theres a folder mode for the iAudio7, what other modes are there? One that displays and organizes everything maybe?

Thank you for this tip. I had been using the jetAudio software and as we say down south "I was losing my religion". This makes life easier. [thumbsup]
I just bought the iaudio7 (4 GB) and it's my first mp3 player, so I'm a quite lost. I use Windows 2000 professional. I need to know all of the steps required to put a CD on to my iaudio7.
I ripped a CD in wav format in jetaudio because I couldn't rip it in wma format. So, now I want to convert the wav format to wma, but how do I find my music when I click "Add Files" on the Convert Audio page? What steps do I need to take after I convert it? Specifically, how do you use Windows explorer to launch the iaudio drive?
I would also like to know what steps need to be taken to burn a disc and to download music off the internet, but I can probably get that info off of the internet.
I find the instruction booklet that came with my iaudio7 to be very basic information with little detail, and since I'm new at this, I have lots of questions and few answers so far and I've spent hours and hours trying to figure this out. Any help or advice will be very appreciated. I have some computer knowledge, but maybe I'm forgetting something basic. Thanks in advance.
you can insert an audio cd.
use the RIP feature of jetAudio to copy the CD into Hard Disk as mp3 or ogg format.
select mp3 or ogg as output format. you should also select higher bitrate in the config window (next to output format) after selecting the format.
if you want to use convert audio, select the output format same as above. and add the files you want to convert.
when you plug in iAudio in your computer, it should appear as a removable drive.
just copy your songs from hard disk to that removable drive.
you can also use jetAudio's Media Center (Album Management). look for device sync button on top-left.
Thanks CvP, I was able to convert the ogg to wma, and I just tried ripping directly to wma (at bitrate 128) and this time it worked, though I don't know why. This time I ripped it to the Desktop instead of to My Music.
I am still confused about how to copy from the hard disk to the removable drive. Can you explain each step for me? I did manage to copy one song to the removable drive, but I don't know how I did it. I'm not sure how to use Album Management in the Media Center either.
AAHHHAAAA! I finally figured this out. Suddenly I began to understand the process, kind of all at once. Yet, I have another problem. That little window that pops up showing you the transfer of each song didn't pop up on several of the songs on one of my albums, and I found that the songs that it didn't pop up on were not transferred to my iaudio7. Why?
Is there a way to transfer the whole album at once instead of having to transfer each song separately?

Check my screenshot posted earlier in this thread, my area is blank.
this is a bug.
i tried an A2 on a friends computer (vista). it appeared.
on my computer (vista), it is blank.
it works in XP always (afaik).
now, you can either use XP (unreasonable solution)
or just drag drop your files.
you can even drag files from "media center" window to an windows explorer window (open your iAudio drive in that first).
