I have a friend over in korea who is coming back in a week, and has offered to pick up an x5 (30gb x5l of course) for me.
My main question is, can I throw this dap into english mode, or will I be stuck learning korean? I understand support may be a hastle if not impossible, but I need the iaudio by june 6th, and a week before that would be much nicer (as in, if I dont get the korean x5 ill probably end up with a different DAP).

From what I gather from the web, you can switch the user menu language between English and Korean.

That's the case for my friend's G3. Just get your Korean friend to switch the menu language to English before passing it to you.

Still waiting for the X5, lucky you... :)

But I think you don't get an Engilsh manual with it only Korean. Do you speak Korean? If you do then bingo....you're in.

No worries... yes, you can "throw" it right into english and be on your way.

Awesome- thanks guys... I'll be with my korean friend for a few days before I leave- so I'll kindly have her translate the needed portions of the menu- though I do consider myself quite tech saavy.

Also- she said the 30gig X5L is about $330 american... pretty rad, eh?
