View Full Version : Why do you buy a case?

Hi, I'm new to all this inside-dap world so please don't shred me for my question:

Everybody is talking about cases for their dap. I constantly find ads and articels on dap sites. But hey: What is all this case buying about?

I'm just wondering, why would anybody want to buy a case for a player that already has a case? Moreover the ones advertised don't even look better than the ones that come with the players. (I'm thinking of my x5 that ships in two weeks)
And furthermore: Some of those cases are sooo expensive.

So why do you buy them? Is there something special about them? Are they better?

Really interested!

Iskin case looks much better than the stock case. But the leather case is not that attactive. Because harddrive DAPs are relative fragile, it is better to have a case to protect them.

I bought a Noreve leather case for my M3L because the standard case is just cheap. And the most important thing is that it doesn't have a belt clip, which is annoying.
The Noreve case looks much classier and has a very handy belt clip. It did cost me 40 euro, but it's worth it.

Looks, use, and durability.
The I5 case, FI, has it in dirability, but not really in looks, IMO, and its usability could be better (alligator belt clip, and fit looser on the sides for the mode and rec buttons)

Are there any other good quality cases out there other than the Noreve for the m3?

Why does the case for the U2 look so good yet the I5 case looks like, as another forum member put it, a glorified "shower curtain"? I wish someone like BodyGlove would get on the case and make something a bit less plastic for the I5...

Oh yeah, the necklace is awful too (the player is truly excellent though).
