Just thought I should let you in on this one, since I read someone suggesting you can get your from Japan.
The reason I came to this forum is that I was on my way to buy iriver H320, when I noticed that my local store has X5. thought I'd come by to check iriver satisfaction ratings.
In the process I saw there is an upcoming review, and decided to put off my purchase until I've had the chance to read it.
Edited to add: price $15 less than iriver
Really? Where have you seen them exactly? Northern Europe seems a little vague...

Cool thanks. Looked on Webhallen and did a little currency conversion into GBP - looks like:
£237 for the 20GB and £282 for the 30GB.
Not bad really. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

Yeah... me too. Especially thinking that I can go out, get 1, and come back here and brag about being the 1st...
On a more sober note, I'll just wait until I've read the full review.
Still don't think they are out in the uk yet :(

I think it is a matter of days.. I can't imagine that they just shipped specifically to Sweden. Sweden is a small market with a few stores, and that's probably why they got the shipped units out to stores so fast. To live in a godforsaken dark hole in the middle of nowhere has its perks.

Yeah. Website says if you order via phone or internet player will be delivered suddenly.
But you can't buy it yet in their local store in munich.
btw. prices: X5 20gb - 338€, X5 30GB - 379€.

I ordererd mine from amazon.de on monday! And I've seen it in at least 10 online stores in germany.
Unfortunately amazon told me it would take 9 to 20 days! :( They also told me I could have ordered several weeks ago.
Which means --> the x5 would be in my hands now (...). aaaaaah

Got my 30GB from iaudiocentral.se (Sweden) yesterday. Not sure if they ship abroad though.

anyway, in the meantime, you guys who got yours will let us know if they are exploding on you or anything.
This is weird, still no sign of it in the UK as far as I can see.
Amazon.co.uk aren't even listing it yet!

WhiteHippo - does the X5 come with a dockingstation (I guess thats the same as a cradle?) buying it from www.iaudiocentral.se? - or perhaps the remote-control?

The cradle and remote are listed as optional in the user's guide, it just comes with something they call a subpack that you plug into the X5 and it has USB, line-in, line-out and power supply ports on the other end. You can see the subpack inte pictures in the "More pics on X5" thread in this forum. The carrying case wasn't included either, it is also listed as optional.

That's kind of sad. :( I always used a remote and a dockin station is sweet as well!
So where could I get a docking station and remote. Has anybody seen it somewhere???

The word is, the remote is the same as M3, and that I could order. I'll just wait until I get that confirmed.
