I'm not sure what the "best" way is, but I've been using Total Recorder for years to record Real Audio (and other) webcasts (both live and on-demand). You can set up scheduled recording to pick up the same show each week.
I use it in conjunction with an MP 3 encoder plug-in so my end result is MP3 files, not Real Audio files.
You can easily trim the unwanted extra seconds off the start and end of the show.

that sounds excellent. the recording quality is also good? the broadcasts i'm particularly interested in are at 128K, it will capture then as such? thanks
