Im wondering if getting the A2 now is still worth it? and how is the x5 compared with the A2?

Also, i wonder if i wait for the A3 if that will be worth the price/product? Same with the q5?

If not can anybody recommend another player.. im going to use it for mainly audio and video no pictures really and im interested in being able to record directly from the TV also.

if anyone can help me out- much appreciated

I'd say the X5 is better for audio and much worse for video.

Not really sure what criteria you're wanting to compare here...

i primarily want to know which u think is better for an equal amount of audio/video playing the a2 or the x5.. or if its better to wait for the new models coming out?

thanks

Quite simply, I wouldn't use the X5 to play videos. On the X5 that's really more of a perk than a feature. If you want to watch a 5 minute video or something it's usable, but hardly ideal.

It would seem a happy medium for you _might_ be the D2.

Right now I'm waiting to see what people think of the new models before I consider upgrading...but then, I already have both an X5 and an A2.

For video, A2 is better

D2 can't record from tv btw

Afraid I can't, but if you go into the D2 forums there's an entire sub-forum devoted to questions like this, so there's probably an appropriate thread in there. :)

I would definently claim that A2 is worth getting. I would also put it above the x5 for 2 very specific reasons. 1: You stil have audio/video in out, but without the dongle as seen on x5. 2: You get a great argument for video, despite the fact the size of the A2 is basically the same as X5, just horizontally instead of vertically.

Ive had the A2 for over a year now, and it has assisted me in many things, from normal to experimental situations. From the basic music, video, photos and hdd onto video projections at meetings, fieldrecordings with a sony digital mic (sounds freakin good) and tv recordings. It has never failed me in what i wanted it for.

Though the argument i think the X5 has is: Steelcasing and vertical handling (which seems more natural at first). Though the colorsound logo on the side is just plain embarassing. That actually kept me from it. ( i thought to myself, why not an inch bigger screen). Weird.

Who Am I?

the way it looks the A2 is still worth it. yes, the A3 may have more features to offer but the battery life has been cut short to what i've read(correct me if i'm wrong). don't get me wrong the A3 will be a great PMP but the battery life is a problem for me and a little disappointment for others. IF anything right now i think the A2 would be just about right for anyone. with a good set of headphones i'd say anyone would be set for a year or two. i have a D2 and i'm loving it but i'm probably going to wait and see what the A3 and Q5 have to offer before i make my next choice.
